Hi, looking using these guys, any more reviews ? Recommendation or otherwise greatly appreciated

I have used them for our bifold door unsure how good of a quality as it was recommended to us by our builder as he had used them before. Long story short our builder who did the installation left us and when we approached SandF for help/guidance we felt there was not much on offer, similar experience to Anoter poster here (Avenger2274).
We did not face the delivery issue as it was coordinated by the builder but kept little buffer when ordering stuff via net, you just have to as there are so many parameters which can go wrong.
Our family/friends who saw the installed bifold doors liked it, it was a wow factor but unsure that’s the quality of the door or it just the sheer size.
Bit of advice, unsure if it was only applicable to our installation, the way our door was installed it shows gap between doorframe and the brickwork filled by the expanding foam! We wanted to cover that gap (showing foam) with some sort of beading, sildeandfold were unable to provide that beading, they suggested we look elsewhere on the net, we are still searching for complimentary beading!
My real concern is that for the time being we might be OK but in few years down the line if we were to experience any problem then with their limited customer support, would they be able to hlep, it remains to be seen!!.
Good luck with your installation.0 -

A gap between the unit and the wall is totally down to poor fitting!Everything that is supposed to be in heaven is already here on earth.

We uses this company for the stock aluminium doors as they were the cheapest we could find. very impressed with the quality of the doors and frame. However have had a problem with the handle and lock. coincidentally the mechanism broke last night meaning I haven't been able to lock the door. I contacted them this morning and they have sent out a new lock without any sign of trying to wriggle out of the garuntee commitment. The old saying u get what u pay for is probably true however when researching how to fix the lock it appears to be a common problem with most companies who sell bifold. The next cheapest company I found wanted 2k more so I can't grumble. We have had them for two years. If the lock was to go again I would probably look at changing them all and use a different site. still a lot cheaper than 2000 extra though.
bottom line I would recommend them as I doubt u will find a better price. hope this helps.0 -
My builder fitted Slide & Fold bifolds in the summer but mine don't have outside handles, which is turning out to be a problem as I can't go out to work in the shed without leaving the doors open - obviously a problem in winter.
I called S&F who just blamed my builder for ordering the wrong sort and said it would be very expensive to change them and that I can't just fit a pull handle to the outside (can't see why not).
So a warning to anyone buying these - make sure you get ones that you can close from the outside.
And if anyone has experienced this problem and found a good solution, please let me know. Thanks.0
