Ok, so contract is up on one of my handsets (I have two with Orange not he same account).
Did the usual telephoning Orange, wasn't offered anything particularly inspiring. Always preferred short term twelve month contracts rather than 18/24.
Saw that Phones4U offered an iPhone 4 8GB for £36 for 12 months, this included ample allowance of 300mins, 3000txts and 500MB internet with some open zone thrown in. I also qualified for cash back of £75 to be refunding automatically within 42 days. No cost for the handset.
Quick maths - £29.75 a month.
Orange always stated no 12 month contracts. Well yesterday I received a call from Orange - offering a 12 month contract. The negative is they want £46 per month (again no cost for the handset).
1000Mins, Unlimited txts, 1GB internet and open zone thrown in also. On this occasion they are offering a 16GB iPhone 4S.
Overall the Orange offer is another £195 for the year. My questions:
1. Is the Orange offer really worth the extra money?
2. Any ideas on how to get them to reduce the monthly charge?
I have already asked what would Orange offer on the 4, told more expensive, what about reducing the mins and txts etc, 'NO' the usual blocks.

What's point in paying extra for 1000 minutes if 300 suffice?0 -

Exactly what I was thinking...didn't think 29.75 was bad for 12 months. For some reason Orange would not offer me what they did last year on the second handset - HTC Desire S, 600 Mins, Unltd txts, 500MB and the phone albeit 2 year contract for £12.50.
Well Orange will call back later, and I will just say too expensive, see if they do anything - not that I hold out much hope.0
