  • I've just opened up a Halifax ISA (fixed at 6.2% for a year) as Alliance & Leicester have dropped their rate from 5.9% to 5.65.

There are also imbeciles crowing to the Bank Of England to cut interest rates too, and I bet those numpties do it.

They do send a quarterly statement if there has been any activity in that quarter.

    Kazza,

New interest rates for Stafford Railway BS from 1st Jan.

    http://www.srbs.co.uk/SavingsRates.aspx?PageID=48

Reduced from 6.1% to 5.85% for £10K+ which puts it well below Kent Relience but still above YBS where my cash is at the moment.

I've done a mega update this morning to add to the quick updates I did earlier this week to the first post of this thread.

    Updates this week:
    • Tipton & Cosely BS Premier ISA reduced from 6.17% to 5.92% AER
    • Natwest E-ISA reduced from 6.00% to 5.75%
    • Kent Reliance Direct ISA reduced from 6.21% to 6.05%
    • Stafford Railway BS mini cash ISA reduced from 6.10% to 5.85%
    • Scottish BS cash ISA reduced from 6.05% to 5.80% (adding a new £30K tier)
    • Leek United BS mini cash ISA reduced from 6.00% to 5.75%
    • Clydesdale Bank ISA reduced from 6.05% to 5.70%
    • Abbey Direct ISA reduced to 5.67% (for balances of £9K+)
    • Saffron BS (180 days notice) ISA 2 reduced from 6.30% to 6.05%
    • City of Derry BS (30 days notice) ISA reduced from 6.05% to 6.00% (adding a new £30K tier)
    • Loughborough BS (30 days notice) ISA reduced from 6.00% to 5.90%
    • Monmouthshire BS (30 days notice) ISA reduced from 6.00% to 5.75%
    • Dunfermline BS (30 days notice) ISA 2 reduced from 5.90% to 5.65%
    • YBS Fixed Rate Anniversary ISA reduced from 6.35% to 5.80%
    • Scarborough BS My Savings ISA reduced from 6.80% to 6.50%
    • Dudley BS Regular Saver ISA reduced from 6.00% to 5.85%

Also added is a new 3 Year Fixes section. As Bank of England base rate has fallen recently, some of the fixes are looking quite attractive. In this section, the (fixed for 3 years) Halifax ISA and Leeds BS ISA, paying 6.20% and 6.10% respectively, have been added.

I will do another update this week. Guys please bear with me, it's been a bit difficult to do updates over the last few days because of work schedules.

    Thanks K!

I was considering switching. Now the rates have changed there is no point.
In case you hadn't already worked it out - the entire global financial system is predicated on the assumption that you're an idiot:cool:

    You're welcome! :)

Yes, there's been a lot of rate changes over the last week. It might be worth hanging on until late Feb/early March before switching as there's bound to be a lot of new ISA launches then.

A lot of MSEs will be transferring out of the Barclays Tax Beater ISA over the coming months, so it'll be interesting to see what is available then.
