One part of the terms of this account states…

    What is the Interest Rate?

    4.36% AER/Tax-Free* Variable for a year effective from 01/07/2026

…where such wording is usually used for limited access accounts which have a "maturity" date. Nothing in the terms indicate that on 1/7/27 it becomes their ordinary ISA account. I have applied for this but have made a note in my spreadsheet to keep an eye on what happens near to that date, just in case.

There is a view developing that the BoE may need to push up rates slightly to counter inflation. Since 4.3% EA can be readily had and the potential for a quarter point increase on the horizon, this might not seem quite such a deal in the future. Suggests CBS are trying to lock in some cash now while they can.

As always, it depends whether you prefer certainty or not.

Skipton have launched Issue 10 of their Base Rate Tracker ISA, this time at base rate plus 0.32% (currently 4.07%.) Monthly interest option available and a 2 year term (though Easy Access within that.)

And it's flexible too - though you might be able to spot something a bit wrong when they say:

    • would like easy, flexible access to your money with affecting your ISA allowance.

@pecunianonolet who did you eventually go for? (I'm guessing you've transferred already as the massive rate reduction was dated 10th July.

I personally went with Tandem due to having a similar style app with flexible isa and previous good transfer in experience.

Tesco Bank but while the opening process was easy they allowed instant pay in so only paid a quid in as had to wait for the letter to arrive to confirm nominated account because otherwise no withdrawal. That letter took a bit of time and was returned in the pre paid envelope the same day, still waiting. Also opened the Skipton account now. Mney still in Chip as bonus rate runs until 20th July.

I believe, Tesco is instant 24/7 access while Skipton is only same day if taken out early during work days. Rate difference is only 0.01%. Probably going to keep some in Tesco for the weekend and late in the day access and rest to Skipton. Since both accounts are flexible it is easy just to move current year funds beetween both accounts. Anything in Chip from previous year funds is going to Saffron at the now reduced 4.35% as long term holding.

That's handy. Was in London, so popped in to convert my existing ISA Tracker (cannot remember which issue) paying 3.91%. This tracker is two years too, and means interest just paid into the account too

I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?

Interesting and thanks for the reply. The instant access part was the reason I didn't pick Skipton and only chose Tandem over Tesco as I already had an ISA with them

    Vida Savings

Just as an FYI for all you ISA Warriors out there, Vida Savings currently have a major technical issue. For two days they've been sending out old eMails to customers regarding Maturities, ISA Transfers etc., even if you're no longer a Vida customer. I've had five so far, including one about a fix that matured six months ago. They are aware of the situation and someone in IT is currently getting a very stern talking to. The very apologetic chap I spoke to said these eMails can safely be ignored.

Since Vida outsource to the Wallsend Processing Centre (Newcastle Building Society), it's possible others that use them might be impacted, but I've only had eMails from Vida so far.
