Hi i have been an orange mobile contract customer for almost 4 Years and when i upgraded my mobile phone contract on january 2011 i did it through phones for u, i had orange care on my account before upgrading and i contacted orange at the time of upgrade to find out if this could be carried on and was told yes,(which they have told me that they have a record of me making this call), well to get to the point i had my phone pick pocketed on sunday 9th june 2012 and contacted orange to block phone and claim on my insurance only to be told i was not covered as it was not an orange branded phone even though i have been paying insurance for it every month, they have told me that they will refund my insurance payments and give me an Extra £50 credit to my account. What i want to know is are orange in breach of contract ? if so do i have the right to ask to cancel my contract and take my buisness else where as i am really not happy with what has happened as it was bad enough getting my phone stolen but then to find out i was never covered even though i was told i was.
Please help

possibly, you would need to check the terms and conditions of the provided orange care to see if it stipulates Orange branded handsets only are coveredgrant150273 wrote: »if so do i have the right to ask to cancel my contract and take my buisness else where
in either a positive or negative outcome there are no grounds to cancel your contract.0 -

- You may change the mobile device registered under Orange Care at a later date. Please refer to 'How to change the mobile device on cover' for further details.
- The mobile device must be connected to an Orange Service Plan in your name
The device or high value device (e.g. mobile phone, USB modem, etc.), in use on Your Orange Service Plan, ... The Mobile Device must be the latest Mobile Device provided to You by Us or one of Our agents or, the Mobile Device that You have notified and registered with Us and We have accepted. ...0 -
Have taken this from there terms and conditions ,
You can transfer cover to any Orange branded Mobile Device but this must be agreed by Us in advance of this Agreement being transferred.
So looks like nothing i can do even tho they admit they were at fault, so just have to take £50 offered and use it towards paying off contract as been left with real sour taste in my mouth with Orange now and go else where.:(:(
