Is it your wife's only car, and not bought recently, with the v5 in her name?

Where an Insurer suspects fronting, checking the Log Book, receipts and bank statement is a standard check.

If the log book or receipt are in your son's name and / or the bank statement does not show the money then the Insurer will often void the policy.

What was your son using the car for at the time of the accident eg driving to work / college or social.

What sort of car is it eg citroen ax

The log book and the private plate will ring alarm bells with the Insurer.

Did you buy the car around the time your son was learning to drive or passed his test

Edit : What sort of car is it

I'm afraid I take back what i said earlier. A Seat Leon, with a private plate owned by your son, with a v5 in your son's name?

Has he been driving your car, another car, or just moved back in?
