I live in an area which is still covered by a hosepipe ban! Daft I know, but there we are. Apparently if we have another month of the rain then they'll lift it, but I digress, fact is it is currently still in place.
When I arrived home this afternoon my across the road neighbour was quite happily washing his car wth his hosepipe - and not being careful about it.
Would you say anything, or report him to the water company, or just leave it?
He has had a number of 'disagreements' with other neighbours and is capable of nasty & petty actions. We currently have no issues with him which is what is telling me to leave it. But I still think it is wrong - despite all that rain!

In life, you pick your fights.
I'd ignore it.If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0 -
I think I'd leave it - there's plenty of rain forecast. Leave someone else to report him.Bern :j0

I'd stay right out of it and not poke my nose.Raven. :grinheart:grinheart:grinheart0

I'd let him get on with it. With several more inches of 'drought' forecast, it's pretty much pulling him up on a technicality.0

Hmmm 3 replies and all saying the same thing. Yeah leave well alone I think.0

I'd be inclined to leave it. I'd also hope one of the neighbours who has had issues with him has also seen him and called the relevant water board.A minute at the till, a lifetime on the bill.
Nothing tastes as good as being slim feels.
one life, live it!0 -
I would leave it 100 %. Its not harming anyone and yes its a bit annoying but not worth causing trouble over. Its just like telling tales if you ask me. There are also some exceptions to the hosepipe ban - people with disabled car badges for example, so you might actually end up being the one in the wrong.0

Lizzy - even though you have said you'd leave it, you will still get another 100 saying 'I'd leave it'. You could be in for a long thread...If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.0

I'd leave it too, he's not doing you any harm unless he was wetting you with the hosepipe leave him be.0

Confront him! He clearly has no respect for the law or for the precious resource that is drinkable water, call him an over-privileged bourgeois pig and throw his sponge at him!
(Just for as bit of variety.
