I plan on renting my house in the next 4 months and buying a barge to live on
That sounds very exciting. My OH loves barges and I know if we ever got that chance he'd want to grab it.

Well I finally got rid of my July bag last thursday, it was the first time I'd been past the recycling place (without making a special journey). Now I need to concentrate on this month's bag to get rid of.CC2 = £8687.86 ([STRIKE]£10000[/STRIKE] )CC1 = £0 ([STRIKE]£9983[/STRIKE] ); Reusing shopping bags savings =£5.80 vs spent £1.05.Wine is like opera. Can I join in? I got rid of most of the china/ kitchen stuff that has been in the loft since we moved last year. 1 box of Denby pottery went to auction, and another box of assorted bits and pieces to the CS :T
Confession: I still have about 5 casserole dishes though
To say nothing of all the baking dishes, plates, bowls, oven tins etc
To say I have a bit of a weakness for kitchen things (especially old ones, from charity shops, car boots and junk markets) is an understatement........0 -
Just got rid of one bag, about to start on the next. I really need to start watching some dvds so I can get rid of them!0
-
Not really got rid of the stuff yet, but I've just listed 45 items on ebay. So hopefully I'll sell at least half of it, and I'll count that as a bag for the challenge :j0

I'm the same, I would much rather buy kitchen stuff from a charity shop or car boot than a new item from a shop. Unfortunately I dont have enough room to store it all but hate getting rid of it. I have a jam pan under the stairs that I got from the charity shop I used to volunteer in, I dumped it there when I bought it months ago but I have another one in the shed that I use once a year lol“A budget is telling your money where to go instead of wondering where it went.” - Dave Ramsey0 -

DFC, some of the charity shops take in textiles as rags - they're able to sell-on old or damaged linens, clothes, belts, handbags & shoes.
I decided, a while back, that a person can only keep so many old t/shirts etc to use as dusters, so carted off to the CS 3 black sacks full of shoes with broken heels (had kept as daughter loved them & hoped to get them fixed), t/shirts with bleach stains (kept to be cut up & used as dusters), t/towels with holes (kept as one end was still useful) & a couple of leather belts that had stretched & had too much 'give' in them (put on weight so don't know why I was keeping
).
However, since I did that, many months ago, the piles of old clothes have started piling up again - will I never learn!0 -
What a good idea for a challenge. I do this anyway! I have a clear out of cupboards etc regularly, taking them one at a time, then I slowly collect a bag of bits to go to charity. My next job will be to go through my wardrobe, but I find that tough because I am a student who is due to start a work placement in October and don't know what the dress code will be! Usually I would say if I haven't worn it for a year, it's got to go!
Good luck everyone :-)A Bag A Month Challenge member0
