I am debating giving a detailed breakdown of the postage and packaging costs within my listing, but I suspect it will make no difference to some people.
I can't see this helping. Mainly because lots of people don't necessarily read all of a short listing let alone a long one and the few who do read the complete listing probably don't re read it at the time of giving feedback.
Addendum: I should also point out that items are posted within 24 hours first class, the same day if possible so they usually receive their item the next day.
Have you considered posting second class or offering options of first or second class. I think many buyers mark the stars on the cost of p&p not the value so it maybe that even though you are not charging much over stamp price 1st class is still too expensive and marked down accordingly.
