I am being held hostage by my sons mother who has pretty much forced me to meet her in Turkey at the back end of August.
I have been to Dalaman/Icemeler/Marmaris and up the Aegean coast.
Can anyone suggest decent resorts/locations worth lingering in that part of the country.
Also is it worth nipping to Georgia/Armenia??
Thanks in advance.

Icmeler. Lovely place, beautiful location, lots to do.
Easy to get around by dolmus (to Marmaris and Turunc). If you just want self-catering try Arya apartments.
Don't scrimp on your transfer from Dalaman airport this time;)
Aren't the elections in Georgia coming up soon? I'd have a good look at the FCO Travel Advice for both countries.0 -

Cheers Pete, I really like Icemeler but think the beach is snide. Not an expert on the surrounding areas I am looking for somewhere with the feel and perhaps tranquillity of Icemeler but with a beach I would write home about.
No idea about Georgia and Armenia but I'm heading up from Dubai a week before the rest and so was thinking of somewhere to waste a bit of time. I remember hearing some years back that Georgia and Armenia are amongst the most beautiful countries on the planet?0 -
Yeah, if the beach is a deal-breaker, then it is a bit coarse.
Perhaps this thread off Trip Advisor might help...
