Car Advice - Seat Position
I'm looking at changing my car and need some advice on where to start. It'll be second hand and preferably a small car. One of the things I need to consider is my elderly dad getting in and out of the car. At the moment, I have a 51 clio and he finds it difficult getting out of the car sometimes. I haven't looked at buying a car for nearly 11 years so any advice would be appreciated.

Look at 3 door cars instead of 5 doors, the front doors are usually bigger.0

Will do. I also need to look at seat height as I think my clio is a bit low for him to get out of. I'll be avoiding anything that's a sports model. I think he'd struggle with the seats in those.0

Those odd small cars that look a bit like vans with windows are good height wise without having to get a bigger car.
Don't know the make & model but I am sure someone will.Truth always poses doubts & questions. Only lies are 100% believable, because they don't need to justify reality. - Carlos Ruiz Zafon, The Labyrinth of the Spirits0 -
My mother-in-law finds the honda jazz and toyota yaris easier than other cars (slightly higher seats, doors which open wide), but cars like the ford C-Max even better still.0

I posed a similar question for my mother and the Nissan Note was well though of for this.0

Citroen Berlingo I think you are talking about. The outlaws have one.
It is actually a fairly big car. The Ford Fusion is also essentially a Transit Connect with doors/Windows.
The Note is a nice car though. Mrs has one, can't fault it so far other than the fuel tank is a bit pokey.
5t.What if there was no such thing as a rhetorical question?0 -
Remember what suits one person with a disability doesn't suit another tho, me and my sis have similar disabilities but on opposite sides of our bodies, and what she finds easy, I don't and vice versa, although, what she feels comfortable driving, i feel comfy getting in and out the passenger side:rotfl: Could your father come with you?
Ones that spring to mind that were easy for one of us are.
Vauxhall Meriva
Vauxhall Agila
Nissan Note
Citroen C3/4 (and ofc the picasso range, a bit big though)
Ford C max4 Stones and 0 pounds or 25.4kg lighter :j0
