    1. You contract with Voda had been terminated because of your fault and is now irrelevant. The debt was sold to FPC. How FPC pay for this is not of your concern.
    2. Now you owe to FPC and they have right to add their fees. If you think that the fees are excessive, you can challenge them by complaining somewhere. I don't know what watchdog regulates this, possibly FSA. You can ask on the DFW board.
    3. FPC must provide you with the proofs of the debt, hence they tell you about Vodafone. However, their payment arrangements with Vodafone are not your business.
P.S. 'you' is a generalisation again. If you don't believe me, ask on DFW board. They are experts in this.

You dont get it although its terminated, its not actually owned by FPC they are only collecting onbehalf of.
Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.
  • This is another thing that needs to be outlawed. The "selling" of debts to dubious third parties. It's money owed to Vodafone and it is their responsibility to collect it or write it off.

Even if this is the case, you cannot refer to the contract that was terminated.

... If you look at vodafones contracts this is not detailed within their terms and conditions and so is not allowed.
If a debt collecting agency is allowed to add their fees, I don't see why Vodafone debt collecting department cannot do this. Neither do I why they cannot subcontract this job to any agent like FPC.

Works both ways, if a contract is terminated all terms within it are. But this isnt the case, its only when a deed of assignment is done can a third party try and change the terms. A dd is a dd, under the contract it does not charge for these, and would apply even to the thrid party.

If the quoted letter from Vodafone tells the truth then I agree with Vodafone selling on the debt.

If you and I do business and I refuse to pay what are you going to do about it? Spend your valuable time and resources chasing me for however long it takes? Or would you rather sell on the debt (probably at a small loss) and be done with the problem of me not paying you?

As for Vodafone's responsibility to collect it or write it off, you are correct and they have written it off.

In this case it looks like the contract has been terminated. The debt collectors aren't providing a phone service. All that is happening here is the debt collectors are seeking what would, ultimately, be awarded as damages for breach of contract.

Its not written off, its just passed out to an external company to obtain payments and pass it on. If sold a lump sum payment would of been made and then the payments go to the agency
