Well that's what it feels like anyway. As outlined in a previous post
To new to post links.. plz reassemble it ht tp://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.php?t=3883101

I have various physical and mental health problems, I will never get 'better', I can only be maintained. Natwest visa are well aware of my condition. I am either heavily tranqulized or i suffer extreme panic attacks and de-realization (i simply do not belive the rest of the world is real and im part of a 'game'... and im made of beetroot). Yes... i can see some of you giggling behind your screens.

After several months of correpondace with visa i have been begging them for a full and final settlement. They continue to refuse to entertain this idea and just keep piling on more charges to my debt.

In recent weeks the distress they are causing me has seen an ambulance being called for me. (i have a heart condition and have suffered multiple heart attacks over the past years (my heart meds amplify my mental illness)... and to top it all my panic attacks trigger heart attack like symptoms. It is VERY painful, distressing and im certain that one day it will finish me off for good.)

I have told them about the effect their harrassment and unwillingness to show compassion and work with me rather than against me is having. After i informed them of my latest AMbulance call out they "apologized for inconvenience"...Charming.

And when i told them i was coming to this forum..they said "we will no longer be able to discuss this matter with you". And have ignored me since......

SO I have this letter from my doctor now that im going to send them. Is this going to make the blindest bit of difference? SHould I send them my ambulance bill to prove what they are doing to me?

Im not allowed to post links as im to new... so re-assemble this if you can. ht tp://i46.tinypic.com/4f7up.jpg

And maybe while i am here, somebody with a better grasp of the Guidelines on mental health and debt can educate these two individuals at visa.

If im not allowed to post any of the links i have, plz advise and i will edit my post.

I thought all Natwest credit cards was mastercard rather than Visa now..

You need to get your GP or psychiatrist to send them a letter.

  • Your main problem is that the letter is from a Finnish general practionner, and not from a British registered consultant psychiatrist, or indeed your British GP.

The letter also states that "Under correct medication Mr XXXX is likely to succeed and lead completely normal life"

Now from their perspective a completely normal life includes paying your debts.

This of course may not be what you want to hear.

I would suggest seeing your GP in the UK, and indeed get some advice from the CAB or similar.
Unless it is damaged or discontinued - ignore any discount of over 25%

The letter you have posted will not work.
Why not get a letter from British Gp and hospital report?
Also your letter state that you are responsiable for your action
No way to get out of debt.

I dont live in the UK anymore paul. I am now a resident of finland.
These debts were incurred in UK while i was un-diagnosed. And living like a lunatic, I had no comprehension of what i was doing.
I was on lipitor 80mg for 2 years.. it has stripped my brain of essensial fats. Now i take up to 10 mg alprox daily to counter the side effects from those statins.

The core debt is actualy very small... its visa fees and penalties that have added several 1000% to my debt.

My letter also states I am currently legaly resposible for my legal actions. That is becuase i am under the care of a good doctor now.
When i am suffering from long duration mania... its borderline as to wether i am responsible for my actions. That is why i am heavily tranquilized for most of my life. IM a zombie with the memory of a backward swimming goldfish...

I have recieved assistance to even type this post.

To succeed and live a normal life.. that is relative. I might be able to achieve that with some support. And my first step is getting rid of these mocking and

Ive been a social undercast for as many yeahs as i can rememeber.
Luckily I was able to function well enough to "work" ..Ive changed jobs evry 6 weeks for the past 20 years. I managed my debts becuase i simply I took none. Duing a manic episode i took on a bunch of debt and figured I Was goign to drive to japan...

But since my heart attacks and mental deterioration i have been unable to work. I am unable to leave my city, i need to live within 400 meters of a cath lab.

I didn trealy come for sympathy as i knew it wouldnt be forthcoming. I just feel very alone and wanted to speak while my brain function allows me too.

Id gladly pay the money i spent back. Which is why im looking for a full and final. I was just hoping for some stop point.. they are continueing to pile on fees and charges like i have a hope in hell of ever paying them off.

Thanks for taking the time to post.

Is there a new policy in the UK where on a sliding scale of illness from mild headache to living dead, your debts get reduced by your creditors accordingly?

If so I must be due a 30% reduction on my mortgage :)

Has a point though, loads of people hide behind medical problems - we've no idea about how real these conditions are so can't really pass comment either way. The doc has said "legally responsible", so unlikely to get the debt squashed or reduced, so might as well start making payments or setup a DMP before it gets even higher.

Maybe send them a written letter (asking for a written reply - this is important, don't agree to anything over the phone or in person) offering them £x in full and final settlement, stating that is the amount that you have spent plus reasonable charges. See if they accept or decline. If it's been going on for some time then they may accept rather than pass onto a DCA.

I assume you don't want any further credit in the near future?

In which case if you leave the account to default for long enough you will get a Full and Final settlement. The fact you are living in Finland is on your side as it will make collection more difficult for them.
