Can't decide between these two houses!

Now had a look - I hate the way they've got the oven/hob in the breakfast bar as I see that as potentially dangerous and it stops you using the breakfast bar for sitting and working, reading, doing hobbies, having coffee/snacks with mates etc etc. It also puts the cooking smells/steam at a point where it can more easily spread through the house.0

The steep slope of #1 wouldn't worry me as I'd remove the grass and terrace with plants and do a gravel garden at the front.
That said, I know #2 is not in a chain and would be a quick sale.
Sigh
if you look on street view however, you can see that its not really a main road, & that the rear boundary is a wall+greenery0 -
Flip a coin to decide.
Once the coin has "decided", if you feel happy about the result, that's the right house. If you feel disappointed, pick the other one. Worked for me well over the years, this principle has!

The second one seems nicer overall - the slope on the garden on the first would be annoying, but I guess you could level it if it really mattered. It does look like the patio would always be in the shade though. The second one seems to have a slightly larger garden too?
As mentioned it does back onto a road though, although it only seems to serve residential traffic though, and isn't a throughfare, and the back windows would look onto the park, which would look nicer than other houses/gardens.
I personally wouldn't put too much on how nice a kitchen is - the second one looks fine, but it would be pretty cheap to change the cabinet doors and ends for something sleeker, put some darker worktops in, switch the oven for a dark colour. I did mine properly ghetto and used £10 of vinyl to change the cabinet end colours

Hi Pilgrim,
I am from East Kilbride (dont know if you are) and I would say that house number 2 is the better location being close to the transtation close a good primary school and a good high school. As others have said you could eventually change the kitchen.
Defo number 2 for future resale being close to the station.0
