    The Argos EBay outlet has the 3g keyboard kindle (refurbished with 12 month warranty) for £115 delivered - I just bought one and it looks brand new. No computer/internet required as it uses the 3g network for free and you can create an amazon acccount to download books directly from the device.

    Even if the prospective buyer lacks their own dedicated connection to the 'net finding an open wireless network should not pose much of a problem.

    I was commenting on the fact that the Kindle lacks an optical disc drive. :p
