    Morrisons also sell it.

  • I've used it for years backpacking. It's 1/10 the price of specialist freeze-dried foods and not THAT much worse. I've even sampled a pack 5 years past its sell-by date - still edible.
The plain mince variety is rather dull. One trip in the Pyrenees mountains we had some packs of dried Thai "Hot and sour" soup - and they weren't kidding about hot and sour! It'd take your head off! But a mix with the plain soya beanfeast toned down one and enlivened the other, making the result rather tasty.

I used it a lot in the 70s and 80s. It was non GM then and we were so skint when times were very very tough for all. I flavoured it a lot and our children ate every bit and grew up very healthy. I don`t use it now but it was a lifesaver then. I started with beanfeast and quickly went onto the unadulerated bland stuff. I never gave anyone in my family rubbish, like pot noodle

I had some soya mince in the cupboard and was trying to use it up. I haven't used it in quite a while but remembered the 'flatulence' and decided to look it up! I came across this thread and I couldn't help but laugh!(I know its an old thread).
This has really brightened the end of my week, making me start my weekend with a smile :) Lets see how I feel tomorrow after my soya veggie curry lol
