In the boot there should be a plastic funnel for if you need to use a fuel can. Worst case scenario, fill a petrol can at the garage and then use the plastic funnel which should fit in the hole.

What is happening exactly when you are trying to put the pump in?

I have a 61 plate Fiesta Zetec petrol version.

I originally found filling up difficult but they just take a bit of getting used to. They have caps which can be really stiff if brand new, I was always worried about breaking it but just push the petrol nozzle in firmly. The cap springs back if you push the petrol nozzle in far enough!

Fiestas are now designed so you can't apparently mis-fuel. The diesel pump nozzles won't fit the petrol ones and vice versa.

    Hope this helps!

its like putting the nozzle against a brick wall, nothing happens. 13p's worth of petrol came out and went over the side of the car, and then stopped. I've tried twice and a mate came with me at dinner to try it and coudlnt do it either.

Have you tried being a little forceful with shoving the pump in?

Very odd. Normally it's just a case of shove it in and squeeze the trigger.

If you can find the plastic nozzle in the boot (spare wheel well) try sticking that in and see if the shutter opens and accepts it.

    could be a faulty cap?

I've looked at a couple of You Tube videos on it and it looks like it's just a case of line up, push in and squeeze trigger.

I'm stumped as to why you are having so many issues.

Let me know how you get on later.
