Set up a standing order to First Direct which left my Lloyds account today, but nothing is appearing yet on First Direct Internet banking - is this usual, does it take a few days?

No. Start worrying. Double-check the account details."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. But it's no longer the individual banks that are in the wrong, it's the banking industry as a whole." - Steven Cooper, head of personal and business banking at Barclays, talking to Martin Lewis0

Do you mean the SO detail are not showing or the payment?
It can take until the end of the day to show, but sometimes because it shows as left your other account it may not have actually been sent yet (as banks do like to take their time) and then has to get to your FD account (electronic I know but they still take a while).
I would give it a while and then check again or tonight.Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
There's a problem with immediate FPs today outbound from LTSB (they'll arrive tomorrow now instead). Maybe their SO system is affected too?0

Sometimes I can have a transaction from another account go through as fast as it takes me to check accounts, other times it can take a few hours.
(So if you have double checked the SO details then it should get there soon, as I said give it an hour or so, if you phone them they might not see the transaction on their screens which will then get you wondering).Everything has its beauty but not everyone sees it.0 -
Will probably give them a ring at lunchtime seeing as it's the first time I've done this with the new account, however I'm pretty sure I've used the correct sort code and account number. Will let you know!0

Well that's par for the course. Banks made useful money out of the time lags in BACS transfers by debiting accounts straight away, even though they wouldn't be parting with the money until 2-4 days later.guitarman001 wrote: »Crikey, that first reply got me going....! They were somewhat cheesed off at losing this, so they implemented FP in such a way as to keep it where they could. It would be quite adequate just to put your money on hold until they send it, but they don't. They debit your account before they even attempt the transaction. For overnight payments they often net a free night's interest, or three at weekends."It will take, five, 10, 15 years to get back to where we need to be. That's not my experience with FD, Lloyds, Halifax and Santander - might be the case with other banks, or in exceptional cases. But it is not correct as a general statement. Only this past Saturday and Sunday, I made payments from Halifax, Lloyds and Santander - they all were processed on the same day, despite the official commitment being "by end of next business day".0 -
I have spoken with Halifax (same system) this morning on a similar issue - payment to FD. I was told that they have a system problem with faster payments out this morning. The system was on mainteneance yesterday so something has not clicked back on is my presumption. I'm chasing it again this afternoon to see if it has cleared. Very miffed as I now need to take more out of my savings to ensure I'm not OD over 0% limit at FD by the end of the day. Grrrrr!
All the best,

Systems were down last night, no internet banking on Lloyds TSB and apparently on Halifax either. Suspect they have been tinkering with the system as it was down for "Essential Maintenance"
Not the first time it's been down like this, so whatever they did last time is likely to be the same reason for it going down again in my opinion. But just speculating as to what they might be up to as don't know for certain.0
