Morning all, off to get the sticky...............

Hi, this is the Daily Thread for 11th June. This is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!

As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or slow internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred.

When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Some people who chat here like to try to answer everyone. Don’t feel you have to though, a general “hi everyone, hope everyone’s well” type start does just as well.

Hi Everyone, haven't started the thread in ages.

Wet and miserable Monday here, OH at work, DD about to leave for college but think will have DS home today - he has come down with a terrible cold and what with his hayfever and seasonal asthma he is not feeling good at all.

I am having a mainly office day today, got loads to do. Will tidy the kitchen empty the dw and have a little tidy around first.

Need to look in the freezers, chose something for tonight (am thinking chilli) then menu plan for the rest of the week.

Although I am moaning about the weather I shouldn't really as we dont have flooding here and have seen the pictures of Wales  so (((hugs))) if you are badly affected by the weather.

Have a great day all.x

Raining here, too, what a surprise!

DS back at school, he's been nagging for days! :D I'm going into town, need a few bits such as a lunchbox for DD - she'll be going to playschool all day Thursday and Friday when I start my new job this week. They stay for lunch but you bring your own.

Got a mountain of clothes to side, towels to wash, which will have to go in TD.

Meal planning for the rest of the week.

Brain tired, so grammar not working yet, sorry!

Have a good Monday all, will try to pop back later.

    Morning everyone

Love and hugs to those that are having a hard/sad time at the moment x

Raining steadily yet again, and very wet underfoot, so it obviously stated raining during the night, looks like it's set in for the day. DH up and off to work at stupid early. I'm back to work today and boys back to school.

Had an excellent time in London, weather was not as good as we'd hoped but we didn't let it spoil our stay, did an open top bus tour on Saturday as weather was dry although still very windy, and we treated to the sight of the Colonels Review (approx 1000 horses and riders all in full uniform - that then proceeded to take a small procession right past the bus - so managed to get some photos etc) - also did HMS Belfast, had meals out etc, was very relaxed and not charging around so feeling chilled.

Haven't really done a menu plan, but I do need to go to SM on the way home from work, need milk, bread, meats, veg, - don't need a huge amount but will try to be as MS as I can. Made a pasta dish last night for dinner - used red pesto, sun dried tomatoes, chopped peppers, and chopped up some smoked sausages, cooked some pasta then made a white sauce, then mixed the pesto base with the white sauce to make a pesto/tomatoey sauce then mixed it all up together, served with a sprinkling of grated cheese on the top, tasted nice - much better than my efforts at macaroni cheese! All the plates were cleared and I'm really pleased as we were going to have a takeaway - then decided we should be able to make something at home instead.

Aunt that has terminal cancer has become very poorly, mum and dad are with her all the time except popping home to get a shower and change of clothes, docs have said it won't be long - hope she passes away quickly and peacefully as she's suffering and in constant pain. I'm expecting a telephone call any time.

Hugs to those that want/need them, keep safe and well x

Hi sorry I haven't been in for a while as I have been on holiday, and I am not going to be on much this week as OH is off work so I will be elsewhere, but can I scrounge some information from the very wise ones on here?

What type of fish is 'woof'? I was at the fish shop at Whitby, where I purchased some smoked haddock that went off, but there was some white fish labelled 'woof'. It looked like it came from a biggish fish. I asked the fishmonger how I would cook it and he just looked at me like I was a very inferior specimen of rubbish and said, 'Anyway you want to.' I shut up.

I can't think how to google 'woof' without getting dogs, so does anyone know what sort of fish is 'woof'?

    Morning all,

Raining her again, and it came down really heavy for hours in the night, poor people affected by the flooding :(

OH gone to work, and dd is off to her volunteer place, it is the place that have offered her a job for the summer, so hopefully she will hear more today.

So I have the whole day to myself :D:, although I have a lot to do, will try and get most of it done today, and then relax a bit more tomorrow.

I need to have a good tidy through downstairs, hoover, clean kitchen and bathroom, make some cakes, do on line shopping, go and see dad and do my office work, will get as much as I can done today.

Dinner will I think be a roast, I have a lamb breast in the fridge, so might do that.

We had a nice afternoon yesterday wandering around the shops at Portsmouth, its a shopping outlet and much cheaper than normal shops, got a few bits for my holiday.

Ok better get on, have good days all xx
