blame myself for my debt.

i would like to thank myself as well for being so weak.

i would visit this site and goto Quick! Grabbit and a couple of other forums on this board, i found money tight but always just about managed my bills, i visited credit cards forum and this is my life turned upside down.

brief outline of me: I'm disabled I'm getting war pension/army pension/dla/incapacity/ my wife gets care allowance for me and no other income.

so like i said i visited credit card forum and seen egg cc deal so i thought i apply, i filled in the application....i did not say i was disabled i gave my old regimental details and thought i would get a big NO but through the post came a CC with a 9K limit on it, over the years i bought things and next minute it was maxed out, in my mad brain i thought i get another card to do this fantastic thing you peeps have self control over and do a 0% transfer so mbna accepted the same details again, i did transfer the money across and so had some breathing space with payments, but i did a foolish thing i had these cards still in my wallet and not cut up in the bin anyway i starting paying for things again and maxed out again.

mbna £120
egg £190
bank cc £140

total= £450

I'm at the end of my life and I'm begging for help, i was a proud man until i was medical discharged from the army, my life has just gone downhill, i suffer from depression, i would loved to work again but this never happen due to my health, i have contemplated suicide on a few occasions....a cowards way out i know but when you have your life ripped from you and all dignity has gone and going into dark stages you do not think of anyone around you.

sorry Mr lewis about title it was my fault it was just made easy by this board, plus they made it easy by not checking my details, i lied because i could not have been refused because the situation i was in.

thank you for listening.

Hows it Martin's fault or anyone elses for that matter for your debt? If indeed the above is all true, think you need to be speaking to the samaritans or someone similar not begging on a message board.

So you lied on several applications for credit cards, maxed them all out with no means of paying them back, and now want help?

    1. I think you should change the thread title.
    2. I think you should make a post in the Debt board.
    3. It's no ones fault apart from your own.

Mattydavies - that was an unfair title as I think you know and you need to be prepared now to get lots of posts talking about your responsibility and the spending being yours not Martins.

As I understand our boss, he is all for spending money if you have it (just get the best deal) - and if you need to borrow to borrow responsibly and within what you can afford. You didnt do this BUT there has to be hope and talk of suicide is really upsetting

Why dont you put a post over on the debt free wannabee board - they are all totally non judgemental and will look to help you get out of your mess. Its not the end of the world these folks are amazing and will give you the best route.

I wish you all the best and hope you can sort this out

Looks like somewhere in the region of £22,500 - based on the £450 mentioned in the OP being a 2% minimum payment?
  • I stand to be corrected, but I doubt if we will hear from the OP again.

Oh, now I read that as how much they owed - didn't think that they could be the monthly payments

TBH, I think this is a troll. I mean the OP is begging for help - from who? What does he expect us to do. The reason I thought the debt read at £450 is that the OP was asking for the money (along with a sob story)

Sorry to the OP if this is true, but as the post above says, I doubt we'll hear from this poster again

Catch yourself on, im not sure whether or not to believe your imaginative story. You are only in debt to £450, u make it sound as if its thousands.
