Was going to use Amazon to replace my worn out Apple headphones that I use with my iPod Touch, but there's loads of negative reviews for what I am looking for ...
Can anyone recommend a decent set of the in-ear headphones, but not the ones with the gel bit at the end which goes right into the ear?
Thanks

Are these the type you want

Or these

I actually prefer the soft-end (gel) ones ... much more comfortable than "standard" in-ear phones.0

I have these:

Very good for the price. I also have some Sennheiser ones I bought from TK Maxx, can't find a link to any similar though.0 -
The first ones are 'groove-shaped' (?!) but those ^ are good, thanks. I was being a bit picky and really wanted white ones again, but those will be fine.
Bod - I must have funny shaped ears as the gel ones feel really uncomfortable.0 -

When you say 'gel' are you referring to Gumy earbuds or silicone-tipped canalphones? There's a big difference between the two.0

I'm not sure what you mean by the earphones you want to avoid, so if I'm suggesting earphones in the "to be avoided" category I apologise.
I have Sennheiser CX271's. Good all round sound, not too bassy, and comfy in the ear. I bought them from Sennheiser directly due to the not so good fakes ive bought from Amazon in the past. Because they sit slightly in the ear they do not go as loud as to be heard by everyone on the bus or train around me (sound leakage on Apple's woeful headphones is embarrassing) but loud enough to me due to the position on the ear...0 -
I would recommend the Soundmagic PL30 which reviews have said punch well above their price tag.
The same can be said for the E10's and the E30's. Reviews for most Soungmagic products are very good.0 -
In my experience, you can't go wrong with Sennheiser.0

Agreed, but if you see a bargain on Play.com be very careful with market place sellers. Shoddy counterfeit copies are rife and its impossible to leave feedback to warn others unless you pay and keep the fakes. If you complain to the seller he immediately refunds, knowing this prevents you leaving any feedback.
