Yep, get a dishwasher. No need to rinse stuff first, just do not put food bits on plates into washer. I wipe with kitchen roll into bin, then into dishwasher

I have had a DW for over 20 years [not same one], and have never looked back

I am on unmetered water, so I use the "rinse" function fairly often prior to full wash programme

  • Hi

I keep wanting a dishwasher and theres a gap for one with the right plumbing under my worktop but ALL I hear is "oh no thats pointless as you still have to rinse everything, youll soon get bored, the cost of water, youll have to clean it out all the time" are these people right? Is a dishwasher as bad as all that?

Instructions for mine actually says rinsing is not needed. Just make sure there's no huge bits of food and it's fine. I'd recommend getting one. I didn't see the point then moved in to a rented place with one and loved it.

I batch wash up to, and while never used a dishwasher before when we had one, cannot wait to have one again now. If nothing else the stuff gets stacked out of the way, not on the benches.

    Get a dishwasher.
    You won't regret it.

Bet I will when its been festering for about a week, although I love the idea it would just be another cupboard to hide things in.

Get one! They are great. There's only me and the two tots, so it's not on every day, but that's fine. I bought extra forks and mugs, that's what I seem to use most of. Just scrape plates off first. But then you'd do that with a sink anyway?
