Don't think people on the low carb diet support thread will give you support. 99% of them are trying to low carb by eating baked goods, cake, muesli, porridge etc and aren't following any diet plan.
They arent following YOUR diet plan which you couldn't handle being a bossy control freak n'all.
The cakes, baked goods etc are low carb ALTERNATIVES which are great, try my lasagne.. low carb yummy-ness0 -
People on the low carb thread attack me personally for pointing out that they aren't following a plan and are all trying to eat as many carbs as poss and are obviously following me to other threads now as well.
Lasagne is a pasta.. rather proves my point.0 -

I think you are confused.
People retaliated.
I don't recall one person backing you up and that was simply because it was obvious by your comments how boorish you were being.
As proved by your unnecessary comment on this thread too.
Oh and people were attracted to this thread because it mentioned low carb. I'm embarrassed for you for thinking you were followed here. You're really not important to any of us, sorry.
OP, as said already, there's more than one way to low carb and only you know how strict you can be with yourself or whether you may fare better with restricted carb intake.
I was strict originally but found it difficult to stick to, now I am happy to low carb using alternative recipes etc.Herman - MP for all!0 -

not if you are using an alternative to pasta! I have made a low carb lasagne and not actually used pasta in it, used veg instead, therefore making it low carb (and I still call it lasagne).
I find the other low carb thread very supportive and helpful, I pop in occasionally and everyone is always friendly.0 -

Edwardia, I would stop now while you still have a mere modicum of respectability left (I'm sure some people would disagree with that comment!). You have contributed some good stuff on the other thread, we all abide by the same principle beliefs, just without being dictated to! Being vindictive and sniping at people isn't
doing yourself any favours!
OP, there are many 'plans' available, and the book 'Living Low Carb' by Johnny Bowden gives an overview of 36 of them - and other stuff - from a professional point of view. Once you get into the low-carb habit it becomes a very satisfying way of life - eating should never be about dieting, because dieting is not sustainable, eating low-carb foods is very sustainable, and above all better for you. At the end of the day you can try whatever you think will suit you, and modify as you go.
But, as the others have said, there is lots of good info on the low-carb diet thread from people who have been there, seen it, done it and have got the t-shirt0 -

Ooh i bet you're LOVING all this attention eh
To recap, lowcarb yummy-ness
All from fresh ingredients, fresh tomatoes, basil, onions, cream, cheese and the 'lasagne' = fresh courgette.. nicer than real lasagne as it's so light
Thats for the benefit of anyone wanting to join the thread, i shall now be ignoring troll face.0 -
taken from the dfw board but relevant here i feel
A long time ago Pania wrote the message below to Newcomers or anyone who comes across a troll on the forum
Over the last few weeks we have had a number of "troll" attacks on the boards.
What is a Troll?
A troll is a person that posts deliberately provocative, nasty or hurtful comments on threads. They may be a person with no previous connection to the board or someone that has created a pseudonym to get their point made. If you should get such a comment made on any thread you post, asking for help and advice, please realise this comment is not directed at you personally so please ignore these nasty comments and continue to post here as normal because the majority of us really are a lovely bunch – ooops, modesty!
What should I do if I get a comment made on my thread?
Firstly do not respond to the comment as this is invariably what the troll wants. So to get rid of the offending post, at the bottom of the post towards the right hand side you’ll see a red "Warning" triangle within a blue “Report” icon, as shown below:
Click the icon and then "send" the message which will inform the MSE team of the post, who will then review its content and deal with it as appropriate; sometimes even deleting the troll by making their status PPR’d (Posting Privileges Removed). Remember, this site is an asset to so many people, especially those that feels like their world is falling in around them. There is a wealth of knowledgeable people here all willing to help, whatever you do, do not let the comments of one silly individual deter you from availing yourself of the knowledge base that is on offer here.PLEASE DO NOT LEAVE THE FORUM
It is testament to the work that Martin has done and continues to do that so many people give their time, knowledge and experience freely to others; without judgement, to lift people out of the depths of their debt crisisPLEASE DO NOT LET THE ACTIONS OF THE MINORITY RUIN THAT
please do no feed the troll ... even if it's carbs0 -

That sounds like a nice alternative to http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/10468/melanzane-parmigiana"On behalf of teachers, I'd like to dedicate this award to Michael Gove and I mean dedicate in the Anglo Saxon sense which means insert roughly into the anus of." My hero, Mr Steer.0 -
Another vote for Nerys and India from me - I dont low carb, but I really should go back to it - its the only thing that has consistantly worked for me, I just like cake too much to have the willpower to keep it up !!!
Their moussaka is out of this world...Do not meddle in the affairs of dragons, for you are crunchy and taste good with ketchup0 -

and from me! They explain it nice and clearly, which is what I need instead of trying to count the carbs
They also have an online forum with recipes, tips, etc:
https://www.pig2twig.co.uk which I find really helpful. The low carb thread here is good, but I was starting to get confused with the wide range of different amounts of carbs people were eating (I need practically zero carbs to lose weight), so for specific advice on v low carb, this is good.
Good luck!0
