Wo can blame val scot, i certainly can't.i just thought it might be easier to let stuff go if you knew it was helping somewhere like that
. But the nursery is helping kids too
.
I hope you never have to go back either!0 -
Not done bad this week
took some unwanted games and dvds in to trade in for cash and vouchers :j and finished some sewing jobs which were cluttering up the bedroom and got a bit more cash for those too!
Has ground to a bit of a halt for now as I needed to get the garden done but have been pretty ruthless out there with my pots so all in all very pleased with the progress so far.0 -
Jojo - great edit to first post
Elona - thinking of you and your daughter
Not doing much here except actively trying to use up stuff that I can't bear to throw out.
Had hissy fit at bin men:o:o:o which did me no credit. They are supposed to turn up Wednesday morning and with the cat and rat population on our street we only put the bins out Tuesday night - except they came Tuesday afternoon. And one of them looked me up and down and asked where my husband was! I did a very good fish wife and told him my husband was at work and what the **** was it to do with him
:o:o:o I usually manage a better standard of repartee but the dentist wouldn't treat me this morning as waiting for more details of my heart failure so I am not feeling good.
And we have bags of rubbish that will linger for another week. I did complain to the council (while complimenting the bin men on how good they usually are) but I don't expect much to come from that.
Looks like tip runs aplenty this weekend.

How about letting the local paper know of the health risk?
Elfnsafety and showing up the council should grab their attention or even enthusiasm.
Waiting for dd to get home then will have marrow mince (thin marrow slices instead of lasagne sheets) which is in the oven as an experiment.
Hope hospital has medical cert as have been waiting since Sunday so I can take it to dd's employer.
Should have bathroom properly finished by end of week and can't wait to have more privacy . With one dd down south for work, another just started university and the one in hospital - there is now only me DH and one dd here and it feels very strange.
Hug to all who could use one."This site is addictive!"

I found the bag and guess what its going IN THE BIN.
Phew.
This is the bag
But since i last used it a few weeks or months ago the flaking jas broken to become properly flaked off!
Now the decision is easy. Its no longer even pretend ok, its kaput.
Interetingly.....who else hoards in their bags?
All my handbags have in them a stash of 'feminine hygeine products' a pen, and a pound coin.
Ones in use also usually have a dog lead (you never know when you might need a dog lead, i have caught stray or lost dogs with it, horses, and runaway calves and cows!)
Also this one had some head phones, (i never use head phones, dh must have put them in there, a pack of tissues and last years diary. Crazy, huh?0 -
LIR, yep definitely the bin! :rotfl:
I've been working on the kitchen again, I have about 10 items for the CS, some cardboard for recycling and some stuff for my DD (a snow shovel) loaded in the car...I have a clear path through the galley kitchen now although still work to be done...
I'm cream crackered.0 -
aw Elona just caught up whats happened with your DD sending my best wishes for a speedy recovery and hugs for you XX
LIR I'll see you a dog lead and raise you a doggy bag in each pocket of every jacket I own now :rotfl:0 -
Well done lostinrates. All my bags have 'feminine hygeine products', a pen, tissues, a comb or brush, nappy bags (useful for all sorts of things!), and a pad of post-its or some paper. If they are large enough there is also a pack of baby wipes, a torch, lip balm, hand wash spray and some spare knickers for DD! I like to be prepared
wannabe sybil - how annoying! I can imagine that they didn't collect much rubbish and will have a bumper lot next week. I like elona's idea of contacting the local paper about 'elf&safety.

I did a CS run yesterday and the lady in the shop oo'ed and ah'ed over a tea, coffee, sugar and biscuit jar set which had one lid missing - I was sooooo strangely pleased that she liked them0 -
:T JoJo, that's a fabulous first post - thanks again for starting this thread.
:grouphug: elona, I really don't have anything to add that everyone else hasn't said - thinking of you.
 valk_scot, you're going great guns there - that's a humungous amount of stuff.
:hello: wannabe sybil, I hope you're feeling better soon.
:rotfl: lostinrates, good call. It's got to go, hasn't it?
I had two wardrobes in my bedroom. One for 'best' work clothes and one for everything else including shoes.
I've got rid of so many items that I don't like or wear, that I was able to consolidate the clothes into the larger wardrobe and I was able to shuffle the smaller wardrobe out of the room into the middle bedroom.
I've re-arranged the room and it looks lighter and clearer.
The middle bedroom has become a dumping ground for all the jobs that need to done.
The walls need sanding, two chairs need sanding, the woodwork needs stripping, a door need stripping and sanding, the holes and gaps need filling and now a tatty wardrobe.
Do I get rid of it or do I paint it for a spare room?
Hmmmn.
In amongst all the work I'm doing for the GCSE in Maths, the exam revision work for work, the housework and all the shopping, gardening and cooking.
That's a lot of work. Don't know what I'm doing, but doing it anyway... :huh:0 -
lir, I am glad we got to see the bag before its departure. I liked the photo. It makes me stop and think how some of my hoardable stuff would look to others. Your bag was clearly just a bag to me. But I know that it is a tough decision to you.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0
