I forgot the paperworkthere are ridiculous amounts of that all over the place. Waiting to be dealt with, waiting to be dealt with by DH, waiting to be put on the the computer finance program, waiting to be filed somewhere, waiting for me to decide what to do with it ...

Its dreadful isn't it. The problem is, and i relaise how pathetic this sounds, i cannot open the filing cabinet drawers. They do not slide very well, and are heavy, and low, and low is difficult as is heavy.0 -
:question: Do many of your have stuff underfoot because it needs something done to it before it can be put away? Or am I just a messy mare?
Oh this is me too. Letters on the fireplace that need answering, clothes that need mending on the dining room chair, paperwork a mile high on the computer desk that needs sorting, and a pile of stuff on the landing that needs to go into the attic but can't until it's boxed up (actually have a mountain of empty boxes in the attic but can't get to them because there is stuff in front of them). Not to mention the pile of shoes in front of the empty shoe cabinet that can't be put away until they've been cleaned.
Trouble is if it's out of sight it's out of mind with me, so I completly forget it needs doing.
On the plus side the five items I had on ebay all sold :j so hopefully that'll be 5 large items less underfoot by mid week. Also managed to fill a huge clothes for cash bag to be collected tomorrow, and rehomed a little rocking horse and a bubble tube lamp thing to people who will use them.
Be strong because things will get better...it might be stormy now but it can't rain forever!!0 -
davsidipp;
There is a charity in London called Emmaus. They take furniture (teach the homeless to do it up if need be, and then sell it on)
https://www.emmaus.org.uk/
I'd contact them and see if they have a group near you.
Salvation Army also collect furniture I think.

Hi,am an avid follower of this thread and it has made me look at my storing/hoarding habits with a new vision - many thanks to all involved. I just wanted to mention to Whitewing that if she finds 24 hr storage she would be able to access her unit any time she wants, for as long as she wants - but it does get very cold in winter and it can be a little spooky if you are on your own as the buildings are usually large and echoey.0

I need help!
I have started buying peanut butter in 1kg plastic tubs (a lot of peanut butter is eaten in this house ....). I'm sure you can guess what's coming next.
I only have two tubs saved so far because they might come in useful but I have nowhere to put them so they are living on the work surface and I can see this getting out of hand.
I need to throw them away, don't I?
Oh dear. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I've been doing so well ....Aspire not to have more but to be more.
