hi,

we currently drive a ford focus and have to fit 2 baby seats and an adult in the back which is almost impossible as the middle seat isnt a "proper" size seat.
just wondered if anyone could recommend a car that has 3 full size seats in the back whether it be a 5-seater or 7.

Thanks!

Sorry should have said about budget - i have £9K and my focus to trade in.
Looking at internet you don't get much for your money for 7-seaters. You can get an alhambra or galaxy but both will have roughly the same miles as the car I already drive!
Have heard about the citroen picasso and the c4 grand picasso and you do get a lot more for your money, but have heard some horror stories about reliability with citroens and french cars in general.

A mini-MPV such as the Zafira will have more room in the middle row, plus you get an extra 2 seats in the back row (although they aren't full-size) which is useful when ferrying kids and their friends about.

    Hi,

Can an adult actually sit in the middle seat? I'm considering a Focus at the moment.

    Thanks

We've got a Renault Scenic, and you can just about fit an adult in the middle. All three rear seats slide independently, so you can get a bit of extra shoulder room that way as well

The one to definitely avoid: Renault Espace.

IMHO both Citroen C4 Picasso/Grand Picasso and Ford S-Max are both worth having a look.

Just about - the middle seat isnt full size in the focus and is more like a 3/4 seat - you should be OK if you have 3 adults and one doesnt mind sitting in the middle on the "hump" but when you have the child seats and their associated wideness it becomes a problem. Never really noticed this until we had kids!!!

When a friend of mine was pregnant with her 3rd child, she & her husband bought a Renault Scenic as it would fit high back booster seat for eldest, seat for middle child and infant carrier across the back with room to spare. When the 3rd child was born, eldest was 3 and middle was 17 months. I would be very surprised if you couldn't get 2 baby seats and an adult comfortably in the back.

My parents had Renaults for several years before getting the Passat and they were reliable despite doing large mileage especially the last one.

Next one is an avoid unless the adult is slim built. My parents have a VW Passat and with the seats for my twin girls in them (group 1 with harnesses), I only just fit comfortably in the middle, I'm medium build 5'6 with size 14-16 waist. If I was any bigger, it'd be a squeeze and would be uncomfortable.

    Hope this helps.
