That was my understanding as well, amusingly I still see people over the limit and switching back and forth between lanes when going past the camera gantries I assume because they think that avoids them getting a speeding fine.

You can go through 50mph at a true average of circa 53mph without getting a ticket. This will show on most speedometers as just under 60mph
Hmm yea I was doing about 60, it was 1am and completely empty road... It was about 3 weeks ago now and haven't got anything yet. Will wait and see.
Is that true... That speedo's show a higher speed than you are actually doing?0 -

This is what annoys me about people driving through average zones. They drive at 48mph, then waver down to 45mph when passing a camera, which means their true speed is closer to 40mph through the zone. The man without a signature.0 -

Technically they're not allowed to underread so they usually read a few miles an hour over to ensure they don't read under. The amount it reads over varies on the car and its condition.

So, overtake if you can do so legally.
There's worse things someone can do than drive a couple of miles under the MAXIMUM speed limit.:hello:0 -

Drivers that can't manage to overtake really annoy me. Even worse are the ones that want to speed, but only if they can do it with others. What's that about? If you want to speed, pass me, and go, don't sit in my boot, thinking, "if he does, I will. But I don't want to on my own."0
