Average speed check

You know on the motorway when there is roadworks, and the speed dropps to 50mph, they have the average speed cameras... I have heard that if you change lanes I between cameras then they can't monitor your speed correctly.

Does anyone know if this is true? I'm not a speeder (most of the time) but was just wondering :)

    They alledgedly changed the wording of the law, so now you can be done even if you change lanes.

    I thought it was just that the earliest camera systems couldn't calculate speed correctly if you changed lane, but the newer systems can.

    Ah cool.. There is always signs too saying 'stay in lane', but I guess that's more to prevent accidents rather than for the purposes of the cameras.

    Worried now :-( lol. I think I may have gone through a little too fast near Bristol a few weeks ago. IF I had been caught, how long would it be till they contact me?

    I did read the oringinal draft of the law stated exceeding the speed limit in any lane, hence the get out, then it was ammended. (to something like lanes) I don't know, but I've seen it said a few times, then it was supposed to be changed. Either way, I'm sure now you're caught.

    Noooooooooooooo lol. 3 points have just come off my licence but it sounds like another 3 are on their way :-( i was thinking that the letter would have come through by now if it was gunna arrive.

    You can go through 50mph at a true average of circa 53mph without getting a ticket. This will show on most speedometers as just under 60mph
