I'd like to say i've had a good day but i haven't
Bear with me while i have my rant...................

A while ago DS was banned from FB due to having online 'chats' of an innappropriate nature lets say.
I asked him today to bring his i pod to me and that i wanted his password as he isn't allowed anything to be password protected unless me and DH know what it is (after FB fiasco) he said 'no'
I went on to rant and say that he wont have it then and i will take it into the apple shop to get it unlocked as he had obviously been hiding something (He is 14 btw nearly 15) i also took his laptop and tv away as i said he couldn;t be trusted.
I logged into his laptop (which is suspiciously clear, i think he uses incognito browsing) , plugged in the ipod and managed to see what apps he had downloaded FB being one of them :mad:
I told him i wasnt happy to which he said i'm too strict, don't allow him to do anything and he doesn't care what me or DH say. :mad:
Spoke with DH who has said i am too controlling and 'what do i expect he's 14, he's obviously watching !!!!!! and talking to girls'
Well duh!! i know which is what i wanted to nip in the bud.
He is currently doing his GCSE's and has more coming up in the coming 12 months. I am overprotective but he's my baby
I know what i was like at that age, it's the lies constantly i just can't stand and i just don't know what to do!!!!!

I am now not talking to DH.
I have given DS back all items and have told him i just don't care anymore, he can do what he likes if he is bold enough to lie to my face about not having a FB account (i asked him before i knew and before i had my hands on the ipod) and he said 'NO'

You can probably tell i feel completely :wall:
I hate bad grammar and spelling and this is probably atrocious but i don't care.
I nearly got in the car a just drove (i don't know where i was thinking to go to as i have no friends really) I also after 14 weeks had a cigarette I feel really pee'd off with myself. I feel a complete failure and feel as if they don't really need me around.
Don't get me wrong this is not a woe is me post or a cry for help or anything like that i just needed to get my feelings written down before i go mad.
I think that's all for now anyway.

Teenage boys are the worst !! You are doing a grand job - I have jumped in the car & just driven many times - before I say something I regret usually

One thing with my eldest - I ignore him - I do all the usual things but don't engage in chatty conversation with him & he hates it. Sometimes it takes a while for him to come & ask me why but we normally get there in the end.

Hiya, yeah that sounds pretty normal! Yeah you're right to be hacked off (v polite!) not about fb or even about !!!!!! but about the lies. Bear in mind that I know f@ck all about you but maybe turn it round to, after a spell in his bedroom, "you been looking at (insert name) in her/without her knickers AGAIN! followed by we're having/what do you fancy for diner etc. the am I bothered stance is always worth a try! All little munchkins (they still are!) are different some talk incessantly and some feel the need to be a bit secretive, i've 2 of each but if your consistent they'll come through, esp as he'll probably fall in love with turkish waitress in a months time anyway and that'll all be your fault too :rotfl:

Hell enjoy the fag, draw a line under it and tomorrows another day..................in 20yrs he'll be asking your advice on the same! x

Aww thanks guys. You're both right. I just wonder if i'm taking the right approach sometimes.
He always says ' my aunt lets my cousin do x, y and z and doesn't moan'
He is of course talking about my darling sister who quite frankly doesn't discipline her kids AT ALL and instead treats them more as 'friends' :eek::eek: however her son (8months younger than mine) tells her EVERYTHING
Typical.

also as a ps enjoy your fag as john dimond said "there are smokers who dont smoke etc" obviously you're a non smoker who, when the need arises, (occasionally smokes!)

You're doing great and they (teenagers need somthing/someone) to push against just like toddlers do, one day far away in your debt free future he will thank you! x
