cannot get my credit back
Options
i have been with Orange since 1999 and where i live it has got terrible Orange reception and my old phone packed up so i thought dam i will change network provider and went to Vodafone, now this new phone is locked to Vodafone so asked Orange for a PAC code so i could take my number and credit to Vodafone, Orange quickly gave me the PAC code to take to Vodafone and i got my new phone up and running, but on checking my credit i see it only had £7.89 left in it, my Orange account had £29.85 in it,
so i emailed Orange customer care support to be told that now i have closed down that account and gone to Vodafone i have lost my credit,
now, when i got the PAC code the man who i was talking to did not tell me i would loose my credit even though i said i wanted my number and credit transferring to Vodafone,
i have emailed Orange many times asking for my credit but they don't even bother answering my emails now,
is there anyway i can get my credit back from Orange as i am a disabled pensioner and cannot afford to loose nearly £30.00,
thanks for any advise offered.

I'm afraid that none of the networks refund payg credit or transfer it to other network. They never have.
Once the payg acc is closed that it, the credits gone. The only thing you could have done would have been to find something to spend it on before closing the acc.
Sorry its not better news. . .0 -
If it was PAYG you cannot get the credit back. You could have converted it to cash losing about 40%, but only before porting the number out.
Also, if you are on PAYG at Vodafone you can save loads by using icardmobile instead that use the same signal: http://www.icardmobile.co.uk/rates.php0 -
I have ported of from Orange a few times an on each occasion I was told I needed to use up my credit as I could not take it with me. Since this is part of the standard script, It would be up to you to prove that this was not said to you during the call - so a recording of the call that you made would have been required. Without this, it is your word against theirs.0

Hi buzby,
no, they never told me anything if they had told me i would loose all that credit i would have used it up first before changing network,
it's still wrong, very wrong, in fact it is theft.
but thanks anyway.

No it's not. It's worth writing them a letter stating your case. I'd advise against calling them thieves though, that's unlikely to illicit the response that you are after. For the cost of a second class stamp it might be worth it.0
