New to sky / virgin / BT

I have recently bought a flat and am now looking to decide which company to use for bb tv phone etc

I am not too fussed which provider I go with...it will all depend on overall price...ie installation, monthly costs etc.

What I am wondering is what is the best way to go about this? I was just going to call the three and find out best prices?
Is this correct??
I have seen a few comments about cash back websites but don't really no how they work??

No.

Work out what you want/ need first. You can call up and they will try to sell you things that you don't need/ want.

What channels do you want?
What do you watch?
Sports: what sports do you watch? Do you need sports channels?
Movies: what movies do you like? Will the free channels be suitable?
Phone: Who do you phone and when? Do you call abroad?
BB: What do you do online? Do you have high data use? Do you need faster speeds?
What can you get? Is virgin available? Can you put up a dish?

What I notice is that you say you are not fussy - does that mean that you 'need' pay TV? Will freeview/ freesat work for you?

Cable broadband is the deal-breaker - if this is available to you, use tha as the foundation for everything else. Virgin National (using ADSL) is exactly the same as every other phone-based offering, so much of a muchness.

In terms of Fiber broadband - I would want to know if it is something you need. If you are using your connection for general browsing (facebook, email, twitter etc.) it is not a dealbreaker. Indeed, paying for a premium service that you don't need is just silly.

As I said previously, work out what you need, and take it from there.

They are really helpfull.
In terms of not being fussy - i mean as in i have no preference of sky or virgin.
I would be quite happy just having freeview but my boyfriend is a big tv (especially sports) viewer so it is a must have for him!!

I have taken your advice and gone through the websites and checked exactly what we will want and need.
However problem is, virgin is not in the area i am moving to until the end of the year so it looks like sky is the only option!!
