The 9 is long gone. It's now a 10r and possibly up for grabs if the weather persists!!!!

According to the Newquay Voice from 27/05/2011 "Nick Briant from Britannic Industries, which owns the Fistral International Surf Centre and adjacent car park, said: “A main reason for the change was that we found the previous system of clamping and ticketing too confrontational".
Confirmation, if it was needed, that Parking Eye do not own Fistral car park
Parking Eye sent me three letters for an overstay in Truro. I knew to ignore them and did not worry in the slightest.0 -
I completely ignored one of those about 12-13 months ago .... received the usual swathe of 'official looking' letters etc for about 6 months, then a gap and one final last hurrah from them about 3 months later.... then nothing.
I didn't respond to anything right from the start, just let them keep sending me the letters......0 -
Yeah I will do and am doing. What a way to turn tourists away from local shops!0

Parking Pie are useless, they charged an ambulance responding to a 999 call in a supermarket under the grounds that it didn't pay at the machine.
The fleet manager had a good laugh that day when the invoice arrived0 -
I too have just received a parking ticket after returning back home to Glasgow from a holiday in Cornwall. I paid £4.80 for 3 hours parking. Rushed back from the beach to the car park so I was back before the 3 hours. No one was on duty and I spent around 20 mins at the car getting ready to leave with my daughter and fed my dog. 2 weeks later I have received a letter demanding £90 for exceeding the time i was there by 20 minutes ! There is a photo of my car when I arrived and before I left. I am so glad I checked the Internet to read these other reports as I was very upset about it and didn't know whether to pay or not . I was going to appeal but reading other people's experiences, this is obviously a waste of time. I will just take the advice of others and ignore the letters. If I ever go on holiday to Cornwall again, I will completely avoid Newquay.0

Most people avoid Newquay anyway, and its not because of the car park companies!!
Seriously though, yes, ignore them, and don't forget to tell everyone you know about this. Knowledge is power!Je Suis Cecil.0 -

One of the problems with Parking Spy is that they use the cameras to determine if you've "overstayed". Just ignore them.0 -
What a way to turn tourists away from local shops! My very sincere apologies for those hoping to request off-board assistance but I am now so inundated with requests that in order to do justice to those "already in the system" I am no longer accepting PM's and am unlikely to do so for the foreseeable future (August 2016).
For those seeking more detailed advice and guidance regarding small claims cases arising from private parking issues I recommend that you visit the Private Parking forum on PePiPoo.com0 -
Cornish tourist board must love em! How many have decided as above and just don't go back because of these companies.0
