G300 or Lumia 710 for beginnner user?

Hi all,

My dad's old Sony Ericsson T715 has packed in after all these years. After going into the store and playing about with the phones, he likes but is torn between the Huawei Ascend G300 and the Nokia Lumia 710.

He would ideally use his phone for calling and texting, and would need voice dialling etc. He also wouldn't be on the internet or using the internet features much.

The G300 is only £100, and the Lumia was £99.95 but it seems we've ONLY JUST missed the deal (should we wait for it?)

You have to chose between the operating systems in the first place, not between the phones.

The G300 is said to be an excellent phone for its price - it's Android.

The Lumia 710 is the cheapest Windows Phone available.
