First check in the Recycle Bin, or you could use something like Recuva and see if finds what he's removed - could be a bit hit and miss though. To give you the best chance, get the portable version and install on a USB stick.
You could also try using System Restore to go back to before hubby got his hands on it. Any system files he deleted should be restored, but any deleted data won't be.How do I add a signature?0 -
thanks, how do i get to system restore?0

It depends on what windows you are running but if Xp or similar then you go to your start menu, Then accessories, System Tools, Then System restore , Then select a previous date and restore.... Then Ban Hubby for good.0

IE, tools, internet options, advanced, reset internet explorer settings ok

I bet all the internet history has all magically been deleted as well
sorry couldn't resist.
Whenever I used to deal with computer problems that the husband had caused it was usually down to one reason.

or "the kids downloaded it".
oh yes, "the kids" were often blamed for ruining the PC despite the same kids being PC experts according to their parents, and yet they still paid me to come along and fix the problems.

other option in case he has completely screwed up the OS, and if your system has it, FACTORY RESTORE which will take it back to the day you bought it, note: make a copy of all your browser favorite sites, any files you have downloaded on to that partition. old emails you want to keep.
To be used if problems occur and the above computer restore palmski posts. aka you try running certain programs and it says error alot.
also note its advisable to use backup software regularly, like TO DO backup. freeware which is what i use.0 -
