Sorry Forgot to say Wirehair that I had laser surgery done 8 years ago and it was one of the best things I have ever done. Scarey but worth it. Hope your son's surgery went well.

Hi all, far too many pages to catch up on, hope I've not missed anything.

My mates just come back from holiday with hundreds of cheap fags so we're going to sell them around the Mr A carpark whilst doing some wombling. Laters.
I do try to keep up but sometimes life gets in the way.
I'm just a penny short of a pound. Peace and Love.

I've joined the 5:2 club cos mrT made me eat 1p chocolate.

    Afternoon all :D

Still not finding much time to keep up with the thread but but hope everyone is OK :)

I got a message earlier about the Thorntons and was sitting in the car outside my local Extra, just about to leave. Thought to myself 'I can't pass that one up' so headed back into the store and found them on the shelf with a £3.50 label!

Scanners out of action so I went to the Electrical Desk at the back of the store for a price check. The lady in front of me had a handful of Price Flop coupons in her trolley so I started to engage in conversation as I though she might be one of us ;) and she offered me one of her Price Flops :j.

Got the choccies checked and they were £3.50 - boooo!!!

Then headed over to the lady again and uttered those immortal words 'Are you a friend of Martin's?'

Yes!, she said, so just want to say a big HELLO! to Enterprise :wave::wave::wave::wave::wave:.

Managed to help her out with some Make a Meal vouchers, then we had a quick look in the car section but nothing to be found there :(

Then went over to see if I could find the Smokey Pork Sausage and grabbed what was there and we shared it between us (I can't get them in my local).

The checkouts were nearly empty as it was school pick-up time and so put my bits on the conveyor belt, then looked up and saw I had chosen the Checkout Supervisor!!! When I gave her the first voucher she said I hadn't bought the right product, but I read the coupon to her - to be used for any Make a Meal product - and she put them all through for me, along with the £1 off £3 prepacked meats from the Price Flop :j

So 4 packs of sausage, some dog treats and half price peppers for 66p - that's my kind of shop!

Haven't got a clue about whether it's a bargain, but can help regarding the books.
Don't buy them....download them free from your library.
I do this all the time on my Kobo.
There's not the huge selection there is in the actual library, but they are adding more all the time and it's so convenient. No books to return, and never any overdue charges as they are automatically deleted at the end of the loan period

Afternoon folks, thanks purdita, well this has just swung it for me.
I'm going to use my WHSmith gift cards to buy a Kobo!:T

:) Thanks purdita but my library isn't on the list :(
I did debate between the Kobo £49.99 & this one as had read very good reviews for the Kobo :D

I've got a feeling you could register with any library.
My library service is Devon, but I get mine from Torbay Library Services as Devon haven't started doing the ebooks yet.

The reason I went for the Kobo Vox is because I got it free with the WHS vouchers.
My husband says he will leave me if I don't stop shopping......... God I will miss that man.
  • are you near me - Vacumn building has done this - forgot by the time I got home:rotfl:

Nah - other side of the M1 - NE of London. They did this with the Lucozade Shots which is what's making me suspicious.

I went for a tray & got waylaid & came back with a Sony Reader :eek:

Not sure if this was too impulsive but I have 30 days to take it back for a refund :)

So can anyone help me please?

I bought it from QVC Outlet Store for £54.99
It's PRS 350 (no wifi) in pink :T
Also included are a nice cover & the mains adaptor cable & plug
and 4 USB charger thingies instead of 1 ;)

Where do I go to buy the ebooks? any good sites?

    Many thanks :)

Have a look on ebay, there are some people selling whole discs of 1000s of ebooks for £5-£10, choose a good rated seller, you can't go wrong ;)
