So Alan now takes 3 despression tablets, 8 paracetamol, 8 codeine phosphate, 2 anti-acid tablets, 6 anti-diarrhoea tablets, and 2 times daily Resouces Fibra-gel, plus takes 2 Acai Berry capsules we buy ourselves. We use one of those daily pill boxes but have to put morning tablets in two of the sections, then afternoon and evening in the others as the morning meds too much for one box. However, now he has to take meds 4 times a day, I am going to have to think of something else

My mum is on lots of meds and some of the tablets are quite big and I couldnt find a suitable daily tablet box anywhere either.

In the end we have used four stacking plastic kids ikea dishes. I have labelled them up as breakfast dinner tea and supper. They are filled every morning and stacked, once she has finished one lot, the empty dish goes to the bottom of the stack. She has also 'painted' the bottom 5ml of a medicine measuring cup so its easier for her to measure out 5ml of oromorph, and she has a little card she slips in one dish to remind her to have a sachet of laximol, as that doesnt sit in the bowl well.

Its a fine balance between enough pain relief to be functional, but not too much so theres some awake time too, and readjusting doses as needs change. Mum is in hospital at the moment (long story, had a fall, pendant alarm didnt work for hours, initially very poor care on acute decision ward, but now having rehab) She has been taking more oromorph for pain, they have converted this to a stronger fentynol patch so the pain relief is more consistant, so she can 'top up' with extra oromorph when she needs it.

I know we shouldnt be giving 'medical' advice on here, but just wanted to tell you about the dishes and how helpful we have found them, so I hope thats allowed!
