Best way to upgrade to Samsung S2 or S3

Options
I am in upgrade window with T-mobile on a 300 mins 300 txt unlimited internet for £15.50. Tariff is as much as I need, been offered £10.50 to stick with current phone but I would really like to upgrade to Samsung Galaxy S2 (or even S3) but not sure of the best way to do this. Would it be unrealistic to try haggling with disconnections department for S2 on existing £15.50 tariff ( I have never tried this before so am a bit nervous ).

Or should I go for one of the deals - I am confused as there are some good looking deals for S2/S3 for T-mobile with eg. Buy Mobile Phones, but do I need to go through them when I am already with T-mobile?

Someone also suggested I switch to Orange as you can switch to a lower tariff after 12 months.

Don't know which way to go, and would really appreciate the views of people here who are so much more savvy than I !!

Of course you need. Either via 'upgrades' section or as a new customer.

I think this was an incorrect information.

I wouldn't want to try to tell you what to do with your money, but do take into consideration the following.

You are not likely to get any great reduction on S3's when they are just out and in short supply. S2 will come down in a few months' time.

But you need to look at what your total commitment over the 24 months will be and ask yourself honestly if your financial position suddenly was hit with, say, redundancy so that no monthly income was coming in, could you afford the contract? There are lots of threads in that vein on here (thread-veins?? - sorry !).

Just work out what you are actually paying for the handset over and above what a similar sim-only deal would cost for same minutes/texts/data.

I know the lure of a shiny new handset is attractive, if not compelling, but look at the figures in the cold light of day and ask what the S2/3 would give you that your current handset or even a cheap PAYG Android doesn't.
