Good point, I forgot about that. Thanks!
I'm up for anyone else who does this deal though, as a benchmark!

    Try renewable planet boilers .co.uk

Realise this is an old thread, but thought I would add my experience of boiler finance. I got the usual extortionate quote from British Gas and then taking a punt typed boiler finance Essex into google. This led me to boilernowpaylater.co.uk (1st Call Services). The quote I received from these guys was over £2K cheaper than BG. The quote from BG was also for a poor quality boiler with a 1 year warranty. 1st Call fitted me a top of the range Worcester Bosch boiler with a 7 year warranty, so no need to have boiler cover for 7 years. I’m sure there must be other independent companies around the country that can also offer a similar deal.

The same thing happened with me last Easter, when it was very cold and my boiler broke down. After a couple of quotes (including a ridiculous one from British Gas) a friend recommended 1st Call Services (boilernowpaylater.co.uk) who were able to offer me a boiler for 2k cheaper than British Gas with a 7 year warranty (BG were offering a one year warranty).

Having no spare money upfront to pay for a brand new boiler, I was able to set up a plan with 1st Call Services, spreading out the payments over 4 years which was such a relief! They were also quick, efficient and friendly too, so if there is anyone the Essex area in the same position I would encourage you get a quote.

You can get a boiler and installation on 0% finance from Go Heating Repair. If you go to goheatingrepair.co.uk they offer 0% finance on all types of boiler. Not sure if they are national, but worth a call.

I done a quick google regarding boiler finance, and came to this thread. Scrolling through I saw your post (quoted) and thought I would give 1st call a try. I also got a few quotes and 1st call services (boilernowpaylater) was who we went with, also was half the price of BG and the same as Swale heating. I was unsure of which out of the 2 to choose, but after reading swale reviews i decided to go with 1st call services. The whole process was smooth, not pressured, and quick. Thank you Spud-it....

sorry for making an old thread live again....
  • I have just been in the situation, crazy that the biggest company in the UK British gas are not the best to use, so expensive for a simple combi swap in my situation!
I used Boiler Plan UK who seem to specialise in boiler finance, i got a new combi installed, on a 7 year plan for £32 per month with 7 year boiler cover included at 9.9% APR.
They offered me interest free finance but a deposit was needed and i didn't have the cash to do it.

All in all an easy process.
