I hope it is ok for me to join you here, my OS life and money makeover isnt as easy as I thought it would be, I'm hoping that by joining in more often on these threads will keep my enthusiasm up whilst I make some difficult changes :money:
Shocked my the amount of money we have just flittered away this week (three kids + hubby on hols + constant bad weather = financial ouch) I have declared today to be a no spend day, this is our first and its trickier than I though, no online spending, no nipping to the shops for a paper and some sweets and its only 9:30 am lol.
Instead of buying treats i'm going to get the kids to help me make and decorate some cakes and instead of going out to buy something for tea, i'm organising the freezer and seeing what I can find.
On top of that I am going to take advantage of being at home to do some de-cluttering and ebaying, am also going to pop onto the flylady thread and be a good girl and see what needs doing.
Then I am going to sit and stitch or knit and watch a DVD with the kidlets whilst encouraging the hubby with the DIY jobs which he's been ignoring for months!0 -
Morning All
Horrible here, we were going to St Albans today, but I would rather stay home in the dry, I feel a bake day coming on
I have just caught up on yesterdays thread, I didn't get on yesterday because we went to Ikea to buy some new book shelves for my cookery books and I counted them as I put them away..........233  It really is an addiction.
Jaynebryan96..... I was sorry to hear that your son has been so poorly and that the doctors find the cause soon ((((((((Hugs)))))))

Morning all
FS - thanks for the good wishes - we had a decent tea when the babies were in bed, nice to have no interruptions!
It's raining AGAIN, so no washing on the line. Going to bake this morning, and visiting sister this afternoon, last day of the holidays here.
Lunch will be something toasted, lots of bread things to finish, tea not christened yet, probably freezer surprise of some sort!
Have a good day, despite the rain, and hugs and kisses to those having a hard time. :kisses3:

Hi all,
Pop,s head round door nervously.... :hello:
I have been reading all your posts, but at the moment OS appears to have gone out of the window here... Working non stop, have had this week off to catch up on some sleep and get back into OS ways, but have just spent the week knackered and buying cookbooks off Am@zon:mad:
I need your help to drag me back from the darkside.... !My bank manager will thank you for it, I was doing so well, spending less than £50pw on shopping, and now, well no idea how much... £100,s:eek::eek:
Will start by updating my siggy
Sorry to rabbit on, and I really appreciate that there are people out there with much more serious issues than work stress, but i,m turning back into a spendaholic...:(Note to self - STOP SPENDING MONEY !!

Good Morning All
Wet and windy here again today - have lots of washing to do but I'll have to use the dryer
Determined to have a 'doing' day today - ended up taking DD out yesterday and then everyone was in and out different times so had a takeaway for dinner
Have cleaned the kitchen, hoovered and washed the kitchen floor, drying 1 load of washing and another in the washing machine. Have already done essential business work and have rolls rising ready to be cooked in the remoska. Just having a break and a coffee then about to attack the bathrooms. Having roast chicken for dinner that was meant for last night.
So no excuses, need to stop spending time on here till my to do list is gone
Have a great day all.x0 -
Morning all
Welcome Jayne:wave: hope your little boy continues to improve.
De1amo congrats to DD on her results.
Wet and windy here so not going anywhere today. CBa to do housework either. So sitting on here and drinking coffee.
FS I have been trying to learn to crochet too. I even went to a morning workshop £25 ouch and was the only one to come away with a tangle of wool. Everyone else (6) had mastered the basic treble and did a granny square. I couldn't remember the sequence of stitches. Need to sit with someone I think.....!
JackieO glad you had a lovely day.
Wuvvies feel better soon.
Hi HH
Well have a good day all and hugs here if you need them. Hope the wind and rain dies down soon.

Hullo all
Hope everyone is doing ok. I have had an unusually quiet day, makes a lovely change.
Have baked a loaf of banana bread which is gluten-free and dairy-free, and oh my word! You'd have no idea. It's lush!!! Cannot wait til it cools so can slice and freeze it, otherwise it's going to be gone by this evening :rotfl:
Off into town now to get a new baby card, my cousin had a little girl very late Wednesday night so am going to wander down to the hospital to see her this afternoon. Love babies!
Need to get some washing on and have a quick swish round the flat. Am on half term this week, got in-school training on Monday and hopefully the agency will have some supply for me next week too. Have a funny feeling tomorrow might be pay day from my Saturday job too, hope so!
Dinner at boyf's mum's tonight. Boyf's sister-in-law and nephew fly back to Sweden tomorrow so last chance to see them. Nephew is 6 months old and totally gorgeous.

anyway didnt spend anything as we took sandwiches and a flask :j
went to see men in black on wednesday, it was hilarious we watched in an imax cinema and was really good, spent £16 on drinks and sweets which i thought was expensive , but when i checked the receipt when i got home he had forgotten to add 2 large drinks 1 small drink and 2 bags of minstrels , how much would it have been with that on , it would have been nearly £30  its along time since ive been to the cinema , next time i'll take my own stuff

Hi all,
DS arrived back ok shortly after midnight, tired and wanting his bed,but seems to have enjoyed it despite the stress of losing his passport. He's looking forward to seeing DD tomorrow,he's brought a nice dolly back for her
Roast pork from the freezer for tea, have some sausages too as DS1 not keen on pork and they need using up.
I've been wet several times today as still taking the neighbours dog out,as well as Leo,seperately.Horrible out.
I taught myself to crochet, tutorials, and Attic24 blog.It felt like I was wasting wool for ages, kept unpicking, then it seemed to click all at once.I still cant follow a pattern very well, but have made a good few blankets now, either granny squares,or one big rectangle. Its relaxing when you're watching television,so keep at it.Keeps you warm in winter too :DIf I havent done any for a while I do have to refresh my memory though.
De1amo,well done to DD,she sounds a bright girl.
Islandmaid welcome back, hope you get back on the OS straight and narrow:)

Well done to your DD De1amo and hope she fulfills her dreams.
I am sitting here with 2 jumpers on and am still cold, now have to take Jack out, still at least it is now dry. My sisters are actually moving into their new house at the moment so they can both start anew.
Hope everyone is keeping warm.:)£180.00 in 'sistercas'fund
Hope is like the sun, which, as we journey toward it, casts the shadow of our burden behind us.
