How many people have coughed up £400 for a hole in the wall not caused by them,
But surely 99% of folk would know whether they had caused any damage and would fight it tooth and nail. The other 1% being those who were too smashed to know or care. So that then pre-supposes that they assume most of their gets are smashed when they return to their rooms.....nice!0 -
All it takes is 1% to pay up for them to be quids in.
It really does smack of the ppc scam.Thinking critically since 1996....0 -
The interesting thing to me is that when someone robustly defends their position, Tavelodge back down and say it was another room or another date.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. Interesting. Just one day apart. I'd wager it's the same place. One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

Shocking! Can't be legal to harrass people at random demanding money?Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0

This is the latest... I rang TL where I stayed yesterday. Receptionist said no record of damage on the system so she would get asst manager to call me on sat morning. 5.30pm sat and still no
call so I called them again. She said "oh yes, I have spoken to asst manager and it wasn't your room, it was another room, he will contact crs and you should get another letter cancelling the claim. At no point during the conversation did she offer an apology, neither it appears did the asst manager have any intention of calling me to apologise, or even update me that an error had been made so not to worry. Disgraceful!!!!0 -

Which presumably indicates that TL are fully aware the CRS are attempting to scam people and it seems are happy to lie. The stuff about about it being a different room appears just to be a standard get out reply if someone challenges the letter. This really has a nasty smell to it doesn't it? How its legal to send out such letters in the first place and why TL seem to take an active part in it is beyond me.
I wonder if there is any actual damage at all to start with?0 -
I think Travelodge are trying to get some additional income these days:
