So are you saying you could have claimed £1500 on your household insurance? If so you would have been better off, your premiums would not have gone up by £1500 maybe not at all if you had protected no claims

I also think youi are missing the point, you didnt take out the correct insurance for single item cover but you were still covered for lots of other eventualities all be it you didnt claim

I dont have enough forum priviledges to post images, but the policy looked to me it had a personal effects cover of £1500. I didnt read the small print, irt wasnt available until after the policiy was bought. I dont know many prople that do read the small print from vbeginning to end.

The house insurance claim wouldnt work now because I have claimed on the holiday cover and its not possible to claim from two policies for the same item or accident.

I no longer have a camera so a claim is not possible anyway.

You had a cooling off period with the insurance, the purpose of this is to give you time to ensure you had the correct policy. It is a shame you did not use this time more wisely. :o

Your mistake was not taking out sufficient cover, not taking out insurance.

Im sure there will be another for sale, but I do have a hankering for the Canon 5d Mark III which is full frame with all the 7d gizmos, also Im not a fan of Canons 18-135, I do quite like the 18-200mm lens.

You are right, but if you read m original post, the policy was described as £1500 personal effects cover. I didnt think to believe it would not be.

But you did not read the paperwork to clarify what that meant. My home contents insurance covers me for an unlimited amount, but if you then read the policy it states a limit for individual items.
