I always say this - when I don't get time to plan meals I get fat and skint! Both undesirable

Well, the week's mealplan is now well and truly planned - only a few bits needed to buy from the supermarket - which I'm very happy about! Here goes, starting today:
Sun: Leftover Chicken & Bacon Pie with Mash & Veg
Mon: Pasta Bolognese
Tues: Omelette with Bread & Butter
Weds: Open Chicken Tikka Sandwiches with Salad
Thurs: Enchiladas
Fri: Jambalaya
Sat: Lasagne with Garlic Bread
Really trying to cut back on the snacks & treats so if we do need anything sweet there's a couple of hot puds we can make up (certainly don't need cold ones as I think summer has gone
). Not going to do too much baking except the odd batch of cookies here and there, and only when the oven is on anyway. Breakfasts are cereal or in my case a strong cup of tea (without milk, today). Rather unsurprisingly I'm the same - when I fall off the wagon my waistline expands and my wallet contracts!
Have a good week everyone.

Hi all, mind if I join in?
I've just started a ww2 ration diet (im on day 3) to try and watch what I spend, eat healthier and maybe lose weight. I live on my own so I dont need to worry about anyone else.
Breakfasts will be porridge or cerial (whatever i have in the back of my cupboard)
Lunches will be LO's as I am actually quite good at padding things out. or sandwiches as I have some prawns in the freezer to use up.
Mon - Sausage pie (sausage and beans topped with mash) with lots of veg
Tue - LO sausage pie with lots of veg
Wed - Stew and mash
Thur -Stew and mash
Fri - bubble and squeak or just a mash up of all the LO veg i have in the fridge to use them up. may add some sausage to it as I have some LO in the fridge
Sat - Pork belly with a load of steamed veg and a few potatoes.
As for snacks - I have plenty of fresh fruit and my sweet ration
finger crossed I can stick to it. Its not to bad at the moment as my cupboards are still full but as it slowly runs down I dont know how I will do. me thinks I will be nissing alot of thingsWeight loss - 0/12 GC - July 142.01/£200 Happiness can be found in the darkest of places if only someone turns on the light0 -

I definitely need to make a meal plan and stick to it this week! Our chest freezer is full to the brim with reduced bargains, which is good as its payday on Friday so I don't want to spend a penny uneccessarily! I do need some potatoes but I can get them with the change already in purse so no need to get yet another tenner from the ATM.
Sooo, this week we shall be feasting on:
Monday - soya burgers (reduced), homemade wedges, baked beans
Tuesday - steak and ale pie (reduced), boiled potatoes, mixed veggies
Wednesday - venison grillsteaks (reduced), homemade wedges, mixed veggies
Thursday - salmon fillets (reduced), cous cous, mixed veggies
Friday - beef shish kebabs (reduced), homemade wedges, veggies or salad, homemade garlic flatbreads
not too shabby I think you'll agree!!
Hmm, the aubergine curry and baba ghanoush sound luvverly! Do you use any particular recipe MandM90??0 -
Mon - Gammon, Pineapple, Jacket Potatoes, Roasted Tomatoes & Peas
Tues - Sausage & Mash with Onion Gravy.
Weds - Pizza & Salad
Thurs - Egg, Chips & Beans
Fri - Chicken Balti (Recipe made from Lorraine Kelly's show last week)
Sat - 60th Birthday Party (buffet & drinks supplied)
Sun - Roast Dinner (not sure what yet)Cat :wave:0 -

Due to torrential rain and flooding have resorted to shopping at moreasons instead of crossing town to @ldi today, so slight amendment to meals this week as meat sooo expensive. Usually get 2 large gammon steaks in @ldi for £1.99 and only had 1 small gammon steak at £1.99 each !!! in moreasons. Still managed to stay on budget though.
