I'm a single working part time mum of 2 boys aged 19yrs and 21 yrs. Eldest son is still in full time education and youngest son has never been able hold down a job due to being unable to read and write.
He is very good at manual labour but he couldn't write the number plate of vehicles (quickly) so couldn't keep him on.
He left school at 16 and he is now pushing 20yrs of age, I'm reaching the age of 50 and now off sick because I pushed my hours up to full time to sort this mess out!
Now he and I are quite sure that he has dyspraxia, if this is the case is there any help out there re financial support and employment

Why do you believe he has dyspraxia, what symptoms does he have? Did you not ask about this when he was struggling at school?0

Maybe contact your local Dyspraxia support group to start ?

I have 3 box file of all his problems at school, it wasnt a very good school, I changed his school and during which time he went time he went off the rails and still off them....I'm crying now.
I thought all the problems were of a clumsy child/ teenager but they are still there - spills every cup of tea/ drink, every spoon of sugar, bangs into every door, he has speech impedament, behaviour problems.
I just cant carry on sharing my salary anymore and I don't know what else to do - Im already on the Grabbits, Comping, boot Saling, Ebaying, tea total and don't smoke dont' go out.0 -

Why are you sharing your salary? Surely your son is receiving JSA as he is unemployed? From his JSA, he should be paying you some board.0 -

Are your sons paying their way out of their JSA and student funding? Surely you don't mean that you're supporting them when you say "sharing" your salary?
On the other hand, i don't really think that you should be feeling hard done by because you work full time with "children" of this age.0 -
My son gives me £20 out of his JSA. And Ive never heard of student funding...tell me more. And I am contracted work 20hrs. I am off sick at the moment for other reasons. I was wondering if there was any extra help/ support in finding a job as JSA keep telling to look for jobs that are inappropiate and not helpful. I thought someone on here might advise re his reading or writing issues thats causing his problem in finding work.0
