what part of "i want to canel my contract" is hard to understand!!!!

Options
y Just spent over 30 minutes on the phone to 3 to cancel my contract as its finishes on 6th july.

They asked why I was leaving, told them I dont get adequate signal since they lost their mast share round this area. The guy then tries to offer me the signal booster box to old stay with them, told him no thanks.

He then tries to get me to accept my contract being reduced to a lower price and says if it doesnt suit me I can call and cancel-Im calling to cancel now!!!!!

FINALLY, 33 minutes later the guy agreed to mark my contract as cancelled as of the 6th july!!!!!!

I know they have to try and retain you etc, but jeez, why would I want to stay with a company who werent in the slightest bit interested in helping me when I complained about lack of signal, inspite of the phone cutting off while I was mid call to them!!!

But its done now :) happy days, or it will be in 30 days time..........:j

To be fair - most people complain that nobody cares about existing customers these days :)

I had the same issue when trying to cancel my mobile broadband with 3 - got to give them 10/10 for trying (and 0/10 for listening ;) )

Only 33 minutes? That's good going for 3, it normally takes longer with a lot of hair tearing

I bet they phone you up again to persuade you to stay. I was called and offered a £5-a-month deal after I had given notice, which I was happy to accept as I hadn't had any signal issues.

you said it! nightmare to cancel anything with them! 17min and 32min phone calls, plus 2 visits to a 3 store to try to sort mine out... and in the process ended up with 2 new contracts  one written complaint later I had 1 contract with a £5 discount! :) lol

Had the same thing with online chat today with O2 I wanted a PAC and it took me 30 minutes to get it and the operator was quite shirty about it. Do they get commission for retentions or a black mark for a loss?
The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair

Yes - I know retentions at Virgin have targets for saving/not losing customers.

I just ask them if they are refusing to give me my pac and at what point do I go to the regulator. Worked on Three and Giffgaff - usually cuts through the cr*p! :)
