    Part of the Furniture Combo Breaker
    Press [Prt Scr] on your keyboard, run your image editor of choice and paste. Alternatively, use the Snipping Tool if available.

    Windows 7 or Vista, you can use the Snipping Tool. XP, Press the Print Screen key, open Paint and click on Edit and then Paste. Then Save As

    If you want to only capture the active window, use Alt + Prt Scr together, then paste into your chosen image editor.

    (Note that you don't actually see anything happen when you press Prt Scr / Alt + Prt Scr)

    As above ^^^ However do you want to post one here , then you need to use something like photobucket dropbox skydrive icloud etc etc

    ⌘ ⇧ 4 + Drag: Selection to jpeg file on desktop
    ⌘ ⇧ 4 + Spacebar: Window (click camera) to jpeg file

    You can also take a screenshot of the entire screen by pushing the "Print Screen" (PrtSc) button on your keyboard. To get a screenshot of only the active window, use Alt-PrtSc.

    Doesn't work here...

    I don't think it's possible that there's a standard way to take a screenshot in Linux since everything is customisable. I use a package called xfce4-screenshooter...

    With Linux, On my laptop at least..
    "fn" + "prn sc" starts the screen capture software and grabs an image of the whole screen then open a dialogue box for you to rename and save.
