Double sim card mobile phone help
Comments

hi ,
I had a double sim card once. waste of time and money. it was utterly unreliable, and you had to get a special rear cover for your phone, which made it twice the size (almost!). Im not sure about compatibilty. your best bet is to put the second sim under the back cover as it will probably fit, and then swap round when you need to. hope this helps.,

i know that the nokia 3100 can do 2 sims in it. but u can use only 1 sim at a time. to switch between sims, there is a command u need to input using the keypad. it should tell you how to do it in the manual. it doesn't matter which network you go on. plus, as it is a nokia, it is very easy to be unlocked
hope it wasn't to late

I have two sim cards in my phone - I got the device in Hong Kong so I'm not sure what it's called here or whether they're freely available. It has a small plate thats the same shape as a sim card and sits in the slot for the sim in the phone, this is attached to a small flat bit of "tape" which houses the two sim cards and sits on top of the phone battery but under the back cover. It's very slimline and fits most phones. You can either dial a 5 digit code (which I can't remember off the top of my head) to switch sims or switch the off and back on again.I have the mind of a criminal genius. I keep it in the freezer next to Mother....0

as mentioned above you can get what are called dual sims for most nokia (and other make fones just do a search on ebay and you'll see what there is. there are as mentioned 2 types one which is known as a 'ghost sim' sits under your phone cover but is a bit of a squeeze and the other comes in a form of a new back cover which houses the 2 sims. i have tried both types the latter seemed a lot more reliable however bulked up the phone the ghost sims took a bit of gentle persuasion to work but eventially got there with a bit of bluetak and nimble fingers...
at the moment i use none and simply swap round my sims when needed, placing the unused sim under the battery and putting the back back on.
as you cant benefit from 2 sims simultaneously theres no disadvantage to the last method other than having to fiddle about (and in my case constantly loose clock/date settings)

I support what the others have said. I've seen discussion here and elsewhere about these. Many are unreliable. You might as well carry the spare SIM in the phone as suggested or have 2 phones; this would be the only way to receive calls on both.0

My mate has one of those Sony Ericsson pda type phones (P900?). I think he has two sims and can receive calls on either number. He is with Orange and he told me it was something he arranged through them?Regards
