replacing a boiler, got different quotes from Rated People webiste. Gas supply pipes to the house are standard 22 I think, though when it gets tot he boiler a smaller one (15) is attached to feed the boiler.
Apparently, bigger boiler require a minimum size pipes and as I am going for a Vaillant one installer wants to change the gas supplying pipes from the meter to the boiler with even bigger one (bigger than 22 mm), we are talking 5.5 meters. Whilst another is only suggesting changing the small one (15mm) so its 22 to feed the new boiler. Third one seems to suggest the same.
what is concerning me is that the first one said not changing the gas pipes to a bigger size may invalidate / affect my warranty.
Rather confusing, its either he is good and knows his stuff or the others are not that good and may a "not so good" job...
Did you have a similar issue when replacing your boiler?

He is correct. If the gas pipe work is undersized and you get combustion faults, Vaillant may refuse to work on it until the pipe is sized correctly.
The gas pipe work to any and every appliance needs to be sized correctly to comply with regs and to enable the appliance to perform correctly and safely.0 -

Do you have a full specification written quotation from each RGI? Have you compared like for like? Were you unable to find a recommended RGI via friends, colleagues, family?
Have a look here for further advice.
