Just bung them in the tea cups with a teaspoon of washing soda and fill with hot water, leave for an hour and the cups and spoons will simply wipe clean, no brillo pads or bleach required!
My Mind wanders, if found please return.
  • I would just like to say thank you to everyone, hopefully i will have nice shiny teaspoons once again :D

OMG  not the *D* word. Wash your mouth out with soap and water. :D
Don't worry about the world coming to an end today. It's already tomorrow in Australia. ;)

I was waiting to get shot down in flames for posting that reply! :p

I'm all for money saving like the rest of us here, but as the going says... "life's too short" sometimes. Bung 'em in the dishwasher and go spend time with your kids, that's what my wife and I do.

Of course, if you've got no kids and plenty of spare time on your hands, that's a different matter.

Unfortunately i have no dishwasher and my OH is sick of the spoons being slightly discoloured. Hopefully we shall be getting a DW soon as we are moving house on Friday and it is one of the first things we want to get.

I use undiluted bleach which I then reuse to clean the sink - works well for both

To add to the dishwasher debate, I think they're god's gift to women :)

I use denture cleaning powder. Just make a solution and put the spoons in for a while. Same with teapots.

Don't forget to remove the teeth before using the pot

It is fine to use a DW if it is full.

My stuff looks as good as new when it has been washed
