Best value places for baby stuff?

Not that I want to pee on anyone's bonfire but you've only just decided to start trying. It could be years before you're ready (I hope not!) to buy stuff by which time they'll be a whole new load of companies flogging baby bits on the web

Don't worry about what you need yet, just concentrate on getting pregnant. And make sure you check out the brilliant Trying For a Baby thread on here

O I know I'm just excited and trying to get my head things now, would rather get myself a bit more informed now that end up panicking if I leave it all till I'm pregnant
Avon Lady since 2009 - I help on the Avon hints & tips thread to help other reps/new sales leaders as I was helped so much by it when I first started out :A0 -

You won't panic, honestly (not about what to buy anyway - you'll probably panic about other stuff). Pregnancy really, really drags and the only thing that makes it bearable is deciding what to buy! If you've sorted it all out beforehand, what will you spend 8 months doing?!
Plus you'll completely forget all the advice you've been given once you get your positive test and you'll have to start all over again
Mind you, fair play to you and your OH for being organised and saving up.

Lol definitely not planning on deciding exactly what to buy or where from, but I've found the replies very helpful - I didn't realise about the second hand shops or the NCT sales, good to know they're something to look into when we need to actually buy things. I guess with us both working full time, and doing avon, and husband only having every third weekend free (he does a rotating shift pattern), that there won't actually be that much free time for going and looking in different shops, at least now we know what sorts of places to try first
yeah we've sat and done our sums, and worked out if we get some money saved, then providing nothing too unexpected happens, we should be able to afford for me to have 12 months maternity leave as we'll have enough put buy for the major purchases and some left for paying bills in the last 13 weeks of maternity leave when it's unpaid. yes we've really done that much research already lol :rotfl: I guess we've just aware that like with most things in life, you have to be able to pay your way so we want to be as prepared as we can
