New Homeowner needs electricity supplier
Hi all - first post, but long time subscriber to newsletters!,
Sorry for the potentially stupid questions, nor having thoroughly searched the site (checked front page and search engine, so hopefully this will not be a repeat topic!)
I have owned my flat for almost one year, but strangely have never received an electricity bill for it. There is no gas in the flat, only elec, and so having had a cold winter, am sort of dreading the first bill...should it ever come.
Here's the questions:
Is it possible that I may not receive a bill after one whole year, in which case will I be liable from the time I moved in, or from the time I register? (i.e: Can I fiddle it so that I moved in "today", and any previous usuage was not my own?)
Secondly, If I register "today", can you recommend a good search/comparisson site to find the cheapest provider given that I have nothing to compare to?
In case it matters, the flat is a new build, about three years old, and in Kings Cross, London. (I am also young and naiive and so trying to get a moneysaving headstart to life, so be kind!)
